Full Job Description
The Director of Global Construction & Equipment Services is responsible for leading the business capabilities, technology solutions, and digital platforms that support construction operations, project execution, and equipment management across the Michels Family of Companies. This role collaborates closely with Construction Operations, Equipment, Corporate Services, and Global IT teams to define strategic capabilities, develop technology roadmaps, oversee investments, and deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that enhance field productivity, asset performance, operational insight, and overall business results. The position also oversees platform strategy and lifecycle management, vendor relationships, data-driven initiatives, service delivery outcomes, and the development of a high-performing global team. Success in this role requires strong leadership, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee multiple functional areas, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic initiatives. Develop and implement policies, manage budgets, and allocate resources effectively. Provide mentorship and guidance to managers, conduct performance evaluations, and make decisions regarding promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Foster relationships with key leaders and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Actively contribute as a member of the Global IT Senior Leadership Team, sharing accountability for Global IT strategy, operating model, investment priorities, talent development, and service performance. Partner with fellow Global IT leaders and business stakeholders to deliver integrated technology capabilities that support construction and equipment operations
  • Set the global capability strategy and multi-year roadmap for construction management and equipment management services, aligning priorities and investments with enterprise strategy, operating company needs, and measurable business outcomes
  • Establish portfolio governance, decision rights, architecture alignment, funding transparency, delivery accountability, and value realization measures. Direct initiatives from discovery and business case development through adoption, stabilization, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Data, Cybersecurity, and Integration teams to ensure solutions are secure, resilient, supportable, interoperable, and aligned with enterprise data standards. Advance trusted operational data and analytics as a foundation for automation and responsible AI
  • Lead vendor and commercial performance for assigned platforms and services, including sourcing support, contract and license oversight, roadmap influence, service-level performance, risk management, and escalation of material issues
  • Ensure reliable day-to-day service delivery for construction and equipment capabilities. Monitor service health, adoption, user experience, operational risk, and support performance; lead root-cause correction and continual improvement for recurring issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise technology, construction systems, equipment systems, or a comparable combination of education and experience
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (desired)
  • Demonstrated experience defining business capability strategies, product or platform roadmaps, governance, investment priorities, and measurable business outcomes in a complex enterprise environment
  • 7+ years of leadership experience, including responsibility for managers, technical professionals, budgets, vendors, and complex cross-functional delivery
  • Experience leading enterprise applications or digital platforms that support construction operations, project delivery, equipment or fleet management, field services, or other asset-intensive operations
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder leadership, negotiation, and change leadership skills, with the ability to align operational and technical teams around shared decisions and accountability
  • Experience supporting global, multi-entity, or decentralized enterprise environments and balancing enterprise standards with operating company requirements (desired)
  • Experience with construction management, project controls, equipment management, fleet, telematics, ERP, or enterprise asset management platforms and their integration across business processes (desired)
  • Experience establishing data governance, analytics, automation, or AI-enabled capabilities for construction, project, field, fleet, or equipment operations (desired)
  • Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles that may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team
