What will I do as an employee with Redstone?As the
Director of Finance, supporting the Redstone mission will include the following responsibilities:
- Prepares or reviews Journal Entries as needed to allow for monthly internal financial statements to be prepared.
- Maintains recordkeeping for all Redstone Fixed Assets.
- Performs physical closing of General Ledger.
- Reconciles General Ledger account balances to supporting documentation.
- Assists department supervisors in investigating monthly variances between actual results and budgeted amounts.
- Provides financial data as requested by independent, governmental, or other auditors, and cost report preparers.
- Coordination of the Year-End Financial Audit with the Certified Public Accounting auditing firm. Coordinating fieldwork, implementing recommendations and working with auditors.
- Generate accurate financial statements by the end of the third week of the month while also providing the quarterly accumulation of data for the Long Term Debt Bank Covenants.
Other Responsibilities- Assists with the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets per the Operating & Capital Budget Preparation Schedule.
- Attends meetings and training sessions (including in-services) as required or appropriate for position.
- Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, accounting and budgeting.
- Supervisory Responsibilities The Controller will be responsible for supervising all Finance Department staff members.
What You'll Need:- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field of study from a four-year college or university.
- Requires at least five years of experience and/or training in a Financial Accounting position.
- CPA and/or MBA beneficial.
