Opportunity at a Glance
The Director of Finance plays a key role in the financial management and growth, of the organization. The individual directly supports the Vice President of Finance and manages the finance team. The individual is responsible for providing vision, leadership, and management of the financial and strategic planning processes, and guiding teams to implement the identified objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall finance function for the institution, and leading a team to accomplish the following:
  • Development and submission of annual operating budgets and mid-year forecasts, including capital.
  • Creating timely, detailed, and accurate analysis of monthly actual results to budgeted results, financial reports, and financial trends.
  • Develop metrics or models to improve business operations, budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Perform financial analysis and modeling to identify resource and investment alternatives- Provide financial support to campus, online and home office leaders.
  • Leads annual tuition pricing recommendations which includes analysis, research and making recommendations to executive management.
  • Leads the development of analysis or other special projects to support strategic and executive management decisions as assigned by the Vice President and/or President.
  • Leads analysis of past trends and future demand; proposes strategic direction, provides thought leadership and engages senior leadership and other influencers as needed.
  • Responsible for delivering the 5-year strategic plan with supporting detail and financials to Board of Trustees and executive leadership.
  • Creates, implements, and enforces financial policies and procedures to improve overall operations and effectiveness of the College.
  • Evaluates and advises management on the impact of short-term and long-range initiatives and plans.
  • Ensures continuous improvement of all financial processes.
  • Works with cross-functional and cross-institution project teams to solve business problems.
  • Partners with strategy team(s) on the prioritization of strategic initiatives and evaluates investment opportunities for strategic and financial value.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field required.
  • MBA required.
  • 7 years financial planning & analysis experience required.
  • Previous consulting, higher education, or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Superior quantitative and qualitative analytical skills combined with outstanding written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated management and supervisory experience required, with proven success in talent development.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and secondary research skills needed. Ability to synthesize and clearly articulate information is a must.
  • Excellent leadership and management capabilities to train and develop staff.


Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $150,171.61 and $181,034.70. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
