The Beverly Catholic Collaborative in Beverly MA announces an opening for the position of Director of Finance and Operations for the three parishes in the Collaborative. The Director of Finance and Operations reports directly to the Pastor and serves in a key management position. This person assists the Pastor in fulfilling his responsibility for the administration of the three parishes ensuring proper stewardship of the financial resources. The Director of Finance and Operations directs these efforts with within the framework of shared ministry in Catholic values. This is a full time position on-site at the parish offices in Beverley.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership for a solid financial foundation for the three parishes.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures in accordance with Archdiocesan standards
- Prepare financial records for the annual year end closing as well as documentation for audits as required by the Archdiocese
- Provide financial analyses and strategic plans for the improvement of operations and financial outcomes
- Comply with reporting requirements for the three parishes to include: prepare budget, annual report, interim reports, general ledgers, allocation summaries and other monthly reports for the Pastor and Finance Council
- Oversee management of the operational and financial records for the three parishes
- Prepares, administers and reviews the budget development process for the three parishes in collaboration with staff, the Finance Council, and Pastor.
- Attends all of the Finance Council meetings for the Collaborative.
- Manage bank relations, including management of accounts and allocation of transactions for the three parishes.
- Assist the Pastor in the administration of offertory enhancement and special parish projects.
- Manage the following responsibilities:
- Prepare checks for the Pastor's signature, attaching appropriate documentation
- Bookkeeping function including, but not limited to, payables and receivables and all other revenues and expenses related to the parish.
- Oversee computer management and applications for the three parishes.
- Responsible for the management of vendor contracts and bids/proposals.
- Maintains a close working relationship with the Facilities Manager.
HUMAN RESOURCES
- Administer payroll and benefits and include the documentation of staff vacation and sick time for all three parishes
- Implement Archdiocesan human resource policies for staff and volunteers
- Coordinate implementation of required training programs for the Collaborative
QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Accounting or related field with 10+ years' experience required
- 10 years supervisory management experience preferred
- Be a Catholic in good standing
- Experience with Intacct Accounting Software preferred
- Experience handling confidential, sensitive, timely and critical matters
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong oral and written communications skills
