Step into the top finance seat for a growing construction operation where you will have the authority to build, improve, and shape the function. A well-established general engineering contractor specializing in fine grading and asphalt paving is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting to lead its California finance and accounting operations. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing accounting, financial reporting, WIP and percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

The Director will partner closely with executive and operational leadership while helping the organization navigate a significant period of growth and change. Key priorities include bringing accounting functions in-house, strengthening processes and controls, supporting new financial system implementations, and building a scalable finance infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction finance leader who understands the numbers at a detailed level but can also operate as a strategic business partner. This person must be practical, collaborative, and comfortable introducing structure without losing the close-knit, hardworking culture that has made the organization successful.
