Summary:

The Director of Fiduciary Administration is a senior fiduciary leadership role responsible for leading the bank's various administrative teams, including core trust administration and specialized fiduciary solutions. This executive serves as a leader of leaders, overseeing teams responsible for the delivery of exceptional fiduciary administration, client service, risk management, and business execution across a broad range of trust and estate relationships. The role leads a significant number of fiduciary professionals through a combination of administrative managers and subject matter experts. They are accountable for the administration of personal trusts, agency relationships, estate settlement, special needs trusts, custody and other complex fiduciary offerings. The Director will drive enterprise consistency, operational excellence, talent development, risk management, and superior client outcomes while ensuring fiduciary activities are executed in accordance with governing documents, applicable laws and regulations, and bank policies.

As a key member of the Officer of the Chief Fiduciary Officer, the Director partners closely with Regional Wealth Managers, Wealth Advisors, Portfolio Managers, Planners, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Product leaders to advance the bank's fiduciary strategy and enhance the overall client experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fiduciary Leadership & Strategy
    • Lead and execute the strategic vision for fiduciary administration across a national platform.
    • Develop and implement organizational priorities aligned with the Chief Fiduciary Officer's vision and the bank's wealth management strategy.
    • Create a high-performance culture focused on fiduciary excellence, client advocacy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Serve as a senior fiduciary thought leader and subject matter expert for complex administrative and governance matters.
    • Lead organizational change initiatives, technology adoption efforts, and process transformation programs.
  • Fiduciary Administration Oversight
    • Oversee the administration of a diverse portfolio of fiduciary relationships.
    • Ensure consistent application of fiduciary policies and procedures across all teams.
    • Provide oversight and guidance for highly complex fiduciary matters involving beneficiary disputes, fiduciary discretion, tax considerations, etc.
    • Drive consistent service delivery standards and client experience outcomes across all fiduciary businesses.
  • Risk Management & Governance
    • Maintain a strong risk and control environment consistent with regulatory expectations and fiduciary practices.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable trust laws, regulations, fiduciary principles, and internal policies.
    • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Risk Management teams to proactively identify and mitigate fiduciary risk.
    • Chair or participate in fiduciary governance committees, risk forums, and escalation processes, as appropriate.
    • Partner with Fiduciary Governance to ensure quality reviews, exception management, remediation activities, and regulatory responses.
  • People Leadership
    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of managers with oversight responsibility for a significant number of fiduciary colleagues.
    • Build a strong leadership pipeline through succession planning, talent assessment, coaching, and development.
    • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and highly engaged culture.
    • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures.
    • Identify organizational capabilities needed to support future growth and evolving client needs.
  • Business Performance & Operational Excellence
    • Manage staffing, capacity planning, productivity, and organizational effectiveness across the fiduciary administration organization.
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators, service level metrics, quality standards, and risk measures.
    • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance scalability, efficiency, and client experience.
    • Partner with strategy, technology and operations teams to modernize fiduciary processes and workflow capabilities.
    • Contribute to budget planning and management for the fiduciary administration organization.
  • Client & Partner Engagement
    • Serve as an executive escalation point for significant client situations and complex fiduciary matters.
    • Partner with Wealth Advisors and Relationship Managers to support client retention and growth objectives.
    • Participate in key client meetings involving complex fiduciary matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Law, Trust Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of trust and fiduciary administration experience, including substantial leadership responsibility.
  • 7+ years of senior-level people leadership experience managing leaders and large teams in multiple locations.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (JD, MBA, LLM, or equivalent).
  • Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) or Accredited Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (ATFA) designation.
  • Deep expertise in fiduciary administration, fiduciary law, estate administration, and trust operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex fiduciary organizations in a large financial institution, trust company, or wealth management firm.
  • Strong understanding of fiduciary risk management, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to drive organizational transformation and operational improvement.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills
  • Experience within a large regional or national banking organization.
  • Experience overseeing estate settlement, special needs trusts, and specialty fiduciary services.
  • Demonstrated success leading geographically dispersed teams.
