Full Job Description
Responsible for the operations, budget and strategic planning for the Plant Operations and SMCVH Facilities to ensure the best patient care environments.
Essential Job Functions:
• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and manages activities and operations of the departments
• Reviews and evaluates existing programs, services, policies and procedures for departmental operations
• Maintains financial accountability for departments as assigned
• Monitors key performance improvement activities (e.g., goals, key indicators, data collection, and effectiveness of process change)
• Facility Capital project administration and management
• Oversees the functioning of building systems and maintenance
• Oversight of Grounds maintenance and landscaping
• Integrates infection prevention and control guidelines and standards within design and construction plans and environmental hygiene operations, including waste management and laundry
• Provides guidance, training, coaching and mentoring to staff
• Responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures for assigned departments
• Responsible for department quality assurance activities
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies (CMS, DNV, Joint Commission, OSHA)
• Proactive in the achievement of the facility goals and objectives
• Coordinates activities with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned
• Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job related hazards
• Follows hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
• Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
• Communicate with patients, families and co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree Preferred
• 5 - 7 years' leadership in hospital engineering maintenance or facilities preferred
• Demonstrated quality leadership in meeting performance plans
• Working knowledge of DNV, NFPA, OSHA, and other related regulations
