Full Job Description
The Director of Facilities & EVS for Nursing Homes oversees all aspects of building operations, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, as well as housekeeping and laundry operations. The ideal candidate ensures a safe, sterile, and welcoming environment while managing capital projects and maintaining strict regulatory compliance.

Infrastructure Oversight: Manage the operation and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers).

Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute a comprehensive PM program to extend the life of building assets and minimize downtime.

Contractor Management: Source, negotiate, and oversee third-party vendors for specialized repairs and major renovations.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the facility meets all local, state, and federal codes (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission, or EPA).

Sanitation Standards: Establish and maintain rigorous cleaning protocols to ensure a pathogen-free and aesthetically pleasing environment.

Infection Control: Implement specialized terminal cleaning procedures and waste management (biohazard) protocols.

Laundry & Linen: Oversee the efficient processing and distribution of linens and uniforms.

Quality Assurance: Conduct regular "white glove" inspections of all public spaces, offices, and private rooms to ensure housekeeping excellence.

Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor a dual-functional team of maintenance technicians and housekeeping staff.

Budgeting: Manage the department's annual operating budget and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) planning.

Sustainability: Drive energy-saving initiatives and "green" cleaning programs to reduce the facility's carbon footprint.
