Hiring Range: $85,000 - $96,000, based on qualifications and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Facilities (DOF) is responsible for maintaining all Denver Rescue Mission (DRM) real estate and buildings. Major areas of responsibility include Supervision, Facilities Maintenance Managers, and Denver Technicians, The DOF reports to the Senior Director of Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance
  • Oversees the staff experience of Maintenance team including: hiring, onboarding, training, managing, performance, conflict, payroll, time-off, team cohesion, etc.
  • Ensures proper utilization of the ticket management system for repairs and maintenance, inspecting reporting to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensures the team's performance of daily routine maintenance and upkeep of all facilities.
  • Oversees building equipment and systems repairs (HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, roof, etc.).
  • Manages the delivery of facility services (utilities, etc.).
  • Oversee and administer annual budgets.

Administration
  • Drives continuous improvement in all areas of facilities, including regular monitoring of performance metrics and visual management boards.
  • Performs scheduled walk-through inspections with facility Directors to determine overall effectiveness of facility health. Maintains supportive and positive relationships with facility Directors; maintains open lines of communication and manages expectations.
  • Finance & Business - develops operational plans and budgets related to facilities while providing financial analysis when needed.
  • Optimizes the allocation of staff and work readiness personnel to facilities, work shifts, etc.
  • Maintains assigned fleet of vehicles including inspections and cleanliness. Assures proper paperwork in the vehicles. Works with Director of Warehouse Operations for service and maintenance.
  • Works with accounting to reconcile vendor accounts.
  • Optimizes the supply chain for parts, materials, supplies, etc. in cooperation with the warehouse at the Ministry Outreach Center.
  • Works with accounting to reconcile credit card accounts.
  • Oversees ordering, tracking and/or picking up necessary items to complete maintenance work at all DRM facilities.
  • Compiles and maintains systems and operations manuals for all facilities.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensures compliance with government regulations and schedules of fire, safety and other inspections.
  • Trains employees on safe practices in compliance with OSHA.
  • Manages recordkeeping and reporting for the State of Colorado Premium Cost Containment Certificate.
  • Participates in the Denver Rescue Mission Safety Council as assigned.
  • Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability - delivers energy efficient workplace environments and audits energy use and efficiency.
  • Maintains critical systems (electricity, heat, water, etc.), ensuring they are operational with minimal down time.
  • Displays the ideals of "Humble, Hungry, Smart" as described in Patrick Lencioni's book, The Ideal Team Player .
  • Is available for emergency "on call" on a rotating basis which will require always carrying a cell phone while "on call." Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.
  • Maintains clear and effective communication with the Chief Operations Officer.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Facilities Manager certification or Facility Management Professional certification from International Facilities Maintenance Association or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience supervising staff in a facilities department.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in facilities/construction.
  • Project Management Professional certification preferred.
  • Previous experience supervising and leading work teams in a demanding environment.
  • A combination of education and experience can be substituted.
  • Ability to triage work requests, prioritize tasks when facing competing demands, and mobilize teams to execute effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Working knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, locks, electrical, HVAC, janitorial and facilities maintenance required.
  • Must be dependable and willing to work on a flexible schedule depending on circumstances, such as inclement weather.
  • Strong Christian ethic with ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Active Driver's License and ability to meet DRM insurability standards.
  • Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by a personal testimony and Christian conduct.
