POSITION OVERVIEW The Director of Evaluation and Outcomes leads the development, implementation, and ongoing assessment of BGCB's evaluation and outcomes strategy. The position oversees organizational data systems and infrastructure, program and youth outcomes measurement, data analysis and reporting, research, and the use of data to inform organizational strategy, program improvement, resource development, and storytelling.
The Director fosters a culture of data-informed decision-making across BGCB and works closely with leadership, Club staff, Development, Marketing & Communications, and external partners to strengthen the organization's understanding and communication of its impact.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluation Strategy, Organizational Impact, and Governance- Regularly present evaluation, outcomes, and organizational impact information to BGCB's Program Committee and other internal stakeholders.
- Establish and support an Evaluation and Outcomes Advisory Board to strengthen organizational learning and evaluation strategy.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and use meaningful metrics that support program quality, organizational effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Partner with the Leadership Team to develop organizational goals and key performance indicators and strengthen BGCB's use of outcomes and impact data beyond transactional measures.
- Lead and foster an organizational culture in which data is collected consistently and used effectively to strengthen programs, strategy, and decision-making.
Data Management, Analytics, and Infrastructure- Assess Club data needs and, in partnership with the Impact Coordinator, develop appropriate data and reporting solutions.
- Partner with the VP of Operations, Impact & Strategy to maintain and continuously improve organizational dashboards used to assess effectiveness and operational performance.
- Partner with the Impact Coordinator to maintain BGCB's organization-wide member tracking system, support accurate and complete data entry, establish maintenance procedures, and monitor data collection practices.
- Work with the Impact Coordinator to oversee Club data infrastructure and its ongoing enhancement, translating organizational and departmental needs into functional, technical, and operational recommendations.
- Oversee and support membership data practices across Club sites, including regular coordination with Membership Directors in partnership with the Impact Coordinator.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of organizational data collection efforts, identify duplication or gaps, and advise Clubs and departments on using data holistically to inform decision-making.
- Oversee the collection of qualitative and quantitative data and provide accurate data for required organizational reporting, including BGCA, Unite, annual dashboards, and other reporting needs.
- Clean, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
- Develop data analysis plans aligned with organizational and program needs.
- Translate data findings into presentations, reports, insights, and actionable recommendations.
- Produce and maintain monthly operational dashboards.
- Perform and oversee database-management activities related to evaluation, outcomes, and organizational reporting.
Research, Learning, and Strategic Insights- Monitor national research, emerging trends, and best practices and translate relevant findings for BGCB leadership to support planning and decision-making.
- Use organizational data and community-level research to deepen BGCB's understanding of the experiences and challenges facing Boston's youth, including emerging trends and disparities and the social, economic, health, and educational conditions that shape youth outcomes. Translate these insights into actionable priorities that inform organizational strategy and decision-making.
- Lead the identification and collection of secondary data that supports BGCB outcomes and research best practices in nonprofit outcomes management and priority areas aligned with BGCB's strategic vision, including health, academics, and teen engagement.
Impact Storytelling, Development, and Grant Support- Partner with Marketing & Communications and Development to identify and interpret internal and external data and research that strengthen BGCB's impact storytelling.
- Collaborate with the Development team to align organizational metrics and evaluation activities with resource-development priorities.
- Lead data collection, analysis, and outcomes evaluation in support of grant reporting and prospective funder requirements.
Staff Supervision, Training, and Organizational Capacity Building- Supervise, coach, and support the professional development and performance of the Impact Coordinator.
- Engage and educate Club staff on evaluation and outcomes practices and support consistent implementation of BGCB data-collection and evaluation requirements.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and supervision of evaluation and outcomes interns.
- Develop and provide ongoing training for BGCB staff on evaluation, outcomes, data quality, and related practices.
Communication, Collaboration, and Professional Engagement- Represent Evaluation and Outcomes at relevant BGCB meetings, events, professional convenings, and external activities as appropriate.
- Perform other duties related to evaluation, outcomes, data, and organizational impact as directed by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONSRequired- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Professional experience in evaluation, outcomes measurement, research, data analysis, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based systems.
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships and effectively support staff across departments and Club sites.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and organizational levels.
- Excellent organizational and written communication skills.
- Excellent verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex data for varied audiences.
- Strong initiative, resourcefulness, and demonstrated skill in metrics, data interpretation, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues, partners, and communities from a variety of backgrounds.
Preferred or Ideal- Master's degree in evaluation, research, data analytics, public policy, social sciences, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Experience supporting evaluation and outcomes within a youth-serving, nonprofit, education, or community-based organization.
- Experience translating data and research into organizational strategy, program improvement, reporting, and external storytelling.
TRAVELTravel between BGCB sites and to activities, meetings, trainings, and events as needed.
