The Emerald Peek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Environmental Services (EVS) to lead our housekeeping and environmental services department.

The Director of EVS will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong management and healthcare environmental services experience.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Environmental Services and Housekeeping Department.
  • Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate housekeeping and environmental services staff.
  • Ensure all resident rooms, common areas, offices, and facility spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Develop and maintain cleaning schedules, procedures, and department workflows.
  • Monitor compliance with infection prevention and control policies.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment while managing department expenses.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
  • Address environmental concerns and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with nursing, maintenance, infection prevention, and facility leadership.
  • Participate in regulatory surveys and maintain continuous survey readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and facility regulations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and exceptional service.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Environmental Services, Housekeeping Management, or a related leadership role required.
  • Healthcare, Skilled Nursing Facility, Long-Term Care, or Rehabilitation experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience supervising and managing staff.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, infection prevention, and safety practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and staff scheduling preferred.
  • Must be hands-on, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to lead by example.
