Position: Director of Engineering - Software & Digital Platforms

An innovative organization is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to head its Software and Digital Platforms function. The ideal candidate is a technically astute and results-driven professional with a strong track record of delivering simplified, automated, and scalable solutions to complex business challenges. This leader will oversee the development of enterprise applications and services across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, emphasizing usability, performance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the integration of business-critical systems (e.g., HR, Finance) to ensure smooth and efficient data and process flow across the enterprise.
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership for the enterprise's service management platform (ServiceNow), working cross-functionally to implement solutions that maximize end-user satisfaction.
  • Shift the engineering team's mindset from tool-specific proficiency to a broader focus on software development, automation, and business impact.
  • Drive innovation by positioning the engineering group as a key enabler of digital transformation and enterprise-wide automation.
  • Champion modern software engineering approaches, such as AI/ML integration, cloud-native design, and intelligent automation.
  • Lead efforts to incorporate new technologies with minimal disruption to legacy systems and platforms.
  • Define and enforce high standards for development, deployment, and security operations.
  • Build and foster a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture centered on accountability, creativity, and professional development.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • A leader who models excellence and stays hands-on-capable of coding, prototyping, and demonstrating emerging technologies to teams and business partners.
  • 15+ years of experience leading software engineering and automation teams in complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven expertise in cloud computing, preferably with direct experience deploying and managing services on AWS or Azure.
  • Deep familiarity with platform integration strategies, SaaS/PaaS environments, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotic process automation.
  • Strong foundation in software architecture, system integration, and scalable digital solutions.
  • Proficient in contemporary development methodologies such as microservices, DevSecOps, and agile practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
