Full Job Description
Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) Promise Academy - top-performing K-12 charter schools within HCZ's cradle-to-career pathway of comprehensive services - seeks Director of Network Performance & Improvement for the upcoming school year!

The Director of Network Performance & Improvement will bring a passion for the goal of HCZ Promise Academy: to get all our scholars to and through college. The ideal candidate cares deeply about children, respects the culture of Harlem's residents, and is eager to make an impact in our community and beyond.

This role is responsible for advancing organizational effectiveness through data analysis, performance management, cross-functional project leadership, and continuous improvement efforts.

The Director will oversee the development and monitoring of network goals and key results (OKRs), analyze performance data to inform decision-making, and coordinate initiatives that strengthen outcomes for scholars and staff. This role will also support the planning and execution of network-wide programming, including leadership retreats, professional development days, and other organizational priorities.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in project management, performance management, continuous improvement, data analysis, operations, education leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience working within a school system, charter network, nonprofit organization, or other mission-driven organization strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional projects from planning through implementation.
  • Experience developing and monitoring performance metrics and OKRs preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of an organization.

What you'll do
  • Network Performance and Data Analysis
    • Develop and maintain network-wide dashboards, reports, and scorecards to monitor progress toward organizational goals and OKRs.
    • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement.
    • Partner with network leaders to establish performance metrics and monitor progress across academic, operational, talent, and enrollment priorities.
    • Synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights and presentations for senior leadership, boards, and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of network reporting systems.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Lead the implementation and monitoring of network continuous improvement processes and routines.
    • Facilitate regular progress reviews, reflection cycles, and accountability structures across departments.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve collaboration, and enhance organizational effectiveness.
    • Support leaders in developing action plans and monitoring progress toward established goals.
    • Promote a culture of data-informed decision-making and continuous learning.
  • Cross-Functional Initiatives
    • Coordinate network-wide initiatives aligned with organizational priorities, including enrollment growth, teacher pipeline development, and other emerging needs.
    • Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and success measures for key initiatives.
    • Monitor implementation progress and ensure alignment across departments.
    • Identify barriers to execution and recommend solutions to support successful outcomes.
  • Network Programming and Operations
    • Design and coordinate network-wide events and experiences, including leadership retreats, professional development days, convenings, and other cross-functional meetings.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop agendas, materials, logistics, and communications.
    • Manage project timelines and operational plans to ensure high-quality execution.
    • Support additional operational priorities within the Superintendent's Office and Business Administration team as needed.
