Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB)
The Impact You'll Make As the Director of DEIB, you will be the district's strategic leader and advocate for creating an inclusive, anti-racist, and academically rigorous school culture. You will shape policies, programs, and practices that dismantle barriers, amplify underrepresented voices, and ensure that every learner-regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, ability, language, or socioeconomic background-can succeed. Your work will directly influence the culture of our schools, the professional growth of our educators, and the lived experiences of thousands of students. What You'll Do .Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead a district-wide DEI strategic plan, serving as a trusted advisor to the Superintendent, School Committee, and leadership teams. .Professional Growth: Design and facilitate transformative professional development for staff on anti-racist practices, inclusive pedagogy, and restorative justice. .Data-Driven Accountability: Analyze data to identify systemic inequities, measure progress, and report outcomes to the community and stakeholders. .Inclusive Culture: Partner with school leaders and HR to recruit and retain a diverse workforce, oversee civil rights grievance investigations, and resolve incidents of bias with empathy. .Community Engagement: Build strong partnerships with families and community organizations; elevate the voices of BIPOC students and families to ensure transparency. .Operational Oversight: Supervise the Equity Coach and building Equity Leads; support school-level DEI groups and student/staff affinity groups; work with building and district personnel to respond to hate/bias incidents. What You'll Bring .Master's degree or higher in education, social sciences, or a related field. .Proven leadership experience in K-12 public education with a focus on racial equity and anti-bias initiatives. .Expertise in restorative justice practices, culturally responsive pedagogy, and inclusive policy development. .Demonstrated ability to analyze and disaggregate data to address performance gaps. .Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead courageous conversations and de-escalate complex situations. .Experience in personnel management, strategic planning, and navigating complex systems.
