Full Job Description
Blumenthal Arts seeks a Director of Development to lead the execution of Blumenthal Arts' fundraising strategy, with primary responsibility for contributed revenue generation. This role manages major donor, corporate, and foundation relationships, and oversees the daily operations of the development function.

Working closely with the Chief Community Impact & Partnership Officer, the Director translates strategy into action, ensuring strong pipeline development, disciplined moves management, and achievement of revenue goals. Occasional evening and weekend hours required to support donor events.

Your impact:

Revenue Generation & Portfolio Management
  • Manage a portfolio of individual donors ($20K-$100K+)
  • Own corporate partnerships ($75K+) and top-tier foundation relationships
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors to secure new and renewed support
  • Secure multi-year commitments and drive revenue growth

Fundraising Operations
  • Lead daily execution of all fundraising activities
  • Coordinate work across development team members
  • Ensure alignment of portfolios, outreach strategies, and goals
  • Drive accountability for revenue performance

Strategy Execution & Planning
  • Implement annual fundraising plans and revenue models
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline tracking
  • Ensure disciplined use of CRM (AudienceView) for moves management
  • Analyze performance data and adjust strategies as needed

Pipeline Development
  • Build structured pathways from membership to major giving
  • Partner with Giving Manager to identify and transition upgrade candidates
  • Lead acquisition efforts for new donors and corporate partners

Corporate & Foundation Relations
  • Manage corporate and foundation pipelines, proposals, and reporting
  • Align funding opportunities with organizational priorities
  • Leverage board and leadership networks for growth

Team Leadership & Oversight
  • Directly supervise development and partnership staff
  • Ensure alignment, accountability, and performance across all roles
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture


Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management, or related field supplemented by at least 7 years of experience in fundraising, development or philanthropy; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Proven track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts
  • Experience managing corporate and foundation relationships
  • Experience working within a CRM system (AudienceView preferred)
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, including forecasting
