Perelman Department of Dermatology seeks an academic dermatologist to serve as Director of Dermatologic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader across the full spectrum of cutaneous oncology; encompassing Mohs micrographic surgery, nonsurgical skin cancer management, and advanced noninvasive imaging - board certified in Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery, with at least seven years of post-fellowship experience. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in multidisciplinary skin cancer care extending beyond surgery, a strong record of leadership in clinical and academic settings, and experience leading teams of faculty and staff. The Director will provide both strategic and operational leadership for our dermatologic surgery units, overseeing clinical programs, faculty, trainees, and staff, and advancing a vision for state-of-the-art, patient-centered care in collaboration with colleagues across disciplines. Responsibilities include providing expert clinical care, leading and collaborating on clinical, population health, and laboratory-based research in skin cancer, and contributing to medical student, resident, and fellow education within NYU Grossman School of Medicine and NYU Langone Health. In their educational role, the Director will work collaboratively with the Director of the Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship Program to support fellowship education and program development. Candidates must hold an MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent), be board certified in Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery, and hold a New York State medical license at the time of appointment. Demonstrated leadership experience, a record of scholarly productivity in skin cancer, and a clear vision for integrating surgical and non-surgical approaches to skin cancer prevention and treatment are essential.
