Director of ConstructionDepartment: Operations / Area Leadership
Reports to: Area Vice President / Regional Vice President
Build Strong Projects-and Stronger TeamsThis is a hands-on operational leadership role for someone who knows construction, understands the numbers behind a successful project, and can help teams solve problems before they become larger issues. You'll work closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and field leaders to keep projects well-planned, properly staffed, and moving in the right direction.
This position is focused on construction operations. Sales, estimating, business development, and overall Area P&L remain under the leadership of the Area Vice President.

- Keep the Area Vice President informed of significant risks, financial concerns, and resource needs.
Project Health and Accountability
- Drive consistent use of company systems, project-management tools, forecasting practices, and reporting processes.

- Monitor cost, productivity, schedule, staffing, safety, quality, and overall project risk.
- Support weekly Project Health Meetings and ensure action items have clear owners, deadlines, and follow-through.
Team Leadership and Development

- Reinforce Concrete Strategies' safety culture across every project.
- Partner with safety, quality, field, and project leadership to address trends and corrective actions.
- Ensure teams follow company standards, project specifications, and quality expectations.
- Promote disciplined planning, communication, documentation, and follow-through to reduce preventable risk.
What You Bring

- Experience leading Project Directors, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and project teams.
- Strong knowledge of self-perform concrete construction, project execution, scheduling, cost control, labor planning, production tracking, safety, quality, and client management.
- Experience managing job profitability, forecasting, cost-to-complete accuracy, production performance, and margin protection.
- A strong understanding of project-management systems, reporting processes, and job-health practices.
- The ability to spot concerns early, make sound decisions, and guide teams through complex project challenges.
- Strong coaching, communication, planning, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to hold people accountable while maintaining trust and collaboration.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned Area.
- A practical, energetic leadership style with a strong sense of urgency, ownership, and follow-through.
