Position Overview
The Director of Commercial Construction will oversee all projects within Center Park Group's pipeline that require commercial permitting and construction, primarily amenity centers and civil/site construction. This role owns the process from pre-construction through closeout, coordination of bid procurement, submittal coordination, budget oversight, and management of on-site personnel across multiple communities and divisions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all commercial-scope construction activity across CPG's community pipeline, including amenity centers and civil/site work
- Procure and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids for commercial scopes of work
- Coordinate and track submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings through approval
- Oversee municipal commercial permitting and inspection processes
- Oversee management of job sites and commercial construction schedules using centralized scheduling tools to progress projects through the build schedule
- Monitor subcontractor performance to verify work is completed timely and in accordance with scope, plans, and specifications
- Perform internal inspections as part of CPG's Quality Assurance Process
- Maintain a safe working environment on every job site that complies with all state and federal governing agencies
- Review and approve subcontractor payments and monitor job budgets and cost reporting for commercial projects
- Communicate regularly with Center Park Group's management team, municipalities, and clients throughout the construction process to ensure project alignment and customer satisfaction
- Partner with land development and residential construction teams to sequence commercial deliverables within overall community timelines
- This role will periodic travel (1-2 times a month), possibly overnight to job sites in other to observe/inspect milestone accomplishments.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Driver's license required
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with direct experience in bid procurement, submittal management, and permitting
- Experience with amenity center and/or civil/site construction strongly preferred
- Prior leadership or project management experience overseeing multiple projects or job sites
