Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director - Clinical Operations assists the President/CNO to ensure compliance with all standards and applicable laws governing nursing and clinical practice in the state of North Carolina. Directs area operations, programs, and activities consistent with the Hospital's objectives and in alignment with the strategic plan. Elements may be accomplished by other leadership but the Director of Clinical Operations retains responsibility and accountability. Promotes and supports a shared governance model of nursing leadership at the local organization. They maintain clinical competency sufficient to assist in emergencies. The Director is part of the administrative leadership team, taking administrative call. Advises the team on patient care issues while supporting and facilitating an interdisciplinary team approach to the delivery of quality care. Furthermore, the Director of Clinical Operations demonstrates a commitment to providing excellent service to departments, development and growth of hospital team members and develops sound relationships with leadership, physicians, team members and the community.

What qualifications you will need:

Required Education: Master's Degree in Nursing or BSN with MBA or MHA or equivalent; or by currently signed commitment letter. Those new to the role must become actively enrolled within 6 months and complete within 3 years. Any exemptions from the master's degree requirement must be approved by CNO Advisory Board Council.

Required License: Current, active and unrestricted NC Registered Nurse licensure or eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license. BLS certification.

Preferred License: ACLS certification.

Required Experience: 4 years of managerial experience in health care or equivalent. Demonstrated strong communication skills and customer service orientation.

Preferred Experience: Practice and knowledge of DMAIC methodology.

Highlands-Cashiers Hospital, a member of Mission Health, an operating division of HCA Healthcare, is a community hospital serving Macon, Jackson and the surrounding counties. Located on Highway 64 between the towns of Highlands and Cashiers, the hospital offers 24/7 emergency care, acute inpatient care, rehabilitation, as well as long-term care through Eckerd Living Center. Highlands-Cashiers Hospital has 24 beds for acute care services and 80 beds in the Eckerd Living Center. Ambulatory services are also available, including therapy services and primary care practices serving both Highlands and Cashiers.
