Director of Business Development

Position Overview

We are seeking a Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth in one of Lee Kennedy's core sectors. Our core sectors include Academic, Commercial, and Special Projects/Interiors. Sector alignment for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, relationships, and firm priorities. This role will lead growth efforts within an assigned core sector while helping expand strategic relationships across complementary markets and client types.

This position will be responsible for identifying opportunities, strengthening existing client relationships, and creating new partnerships that drive construction management opportunities. The candidate will work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment between business goals and client satisfaction. You will play a pivotal role in lead generation, relationship building, sales conversion, and supporting marketing and proposal efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and Pursue Opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with Owners, Developers, OPMs, Architects, and Engineers with a specific focus on creating executive/economic buyer relationships
  • Focus on one of our major sectors while supporting growth in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Commercial markets.

Strategic Sales & Networking
  • Lead sales planning and market outreach.
  • Participate in strategic pre-positioning efforts with clients that align with our ideal customer profile
  • Attend industry events, client functions, and networking opportunities.

Collaboration & Proposal Development
  • Gain market influence through economic buyer relationships
  • Partner with leadership, sales, and marketing teams to develop strategic outreach plans.
  • Contribute to high-quality proposals, interview preparation, and client presentations.

Client Relationship Management
  • Maintain and expand existing client relationships.
  • Engage internal teams in business development initiatives.

Pipeline Management
  • Track and manage leads through HubSpot CRM.
  • Lead sector sales meetings and participate in company-wide sales discussions

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $125,000- $175,000 annually, representing the company's good-faith and reasonable estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. The final offer will be based on factors such as experience, skills, responsibilities, and current market conditions. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package.
