Job Description:

Description of Duties:

Assist the Vice President/CFO in the development, evaluation and monitoring of college budget allocations, expenditures and revenue projections. This includes the preparation, analysis and distribution of monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the College Administration/Divisions and Board of Trustees. The Director will participate in formulating and determining fiscal policy.
  • Create, monitor, assess and (as needed) improve the college-wide process for assembling the annual operating budget which reflects input from across the college and assembles a prioritized budget proposal for the college leadership and Board of Trustees' consideration.
  • Conduct exercises to project or forecast revenue and expense outcomes throughout the fiscal year at both the institutional level and, as needed, for specific projects or departments.
  • Prepare and monitor multiple budgets, revenue forecasting, payroll expense projections and spending plans, supported by system-generated and analyst-prepared financial reports.
  • Prepare financial and other reports for Senior Leadership, the Board of Trustees and others as necessary.
  • Present financial information to the Board of Trustees and the College community.
  • Able to develop and deliver messaging and communications in such a way as to effectively convey complex fiscal information to audiences without financial backgrounds.
  • Serve as liaison to VPs and Divisional Budget Coordinators in all budget-related matters for planning and execution phases of the budget.
  • Develop and conduct budgetary training to members of the college community as needed.
  • Prepare reports to project and illustrate potential financial outcomes and impacts for scenarios and opportunities as they arise.
  • Recommend and draft institutional policies relating to resource allocation.
  • Assist the Comptroller and other relevant college officials in the preparation of the fiscal year-end financial statements and other fiscal year/calendar year-end state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Represent the VP/CFO on all budget related matters within the College community.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required with an emphasis in Financial Management, Business Administration or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience of progressively responsible experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Experience and proficiency with automated financial systems required
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in fiscal management and planning
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and visual aids that support transparency, accountability, and data-informed decision-making
  • Demonstrated strength in communication skills and proficiency in oral and written expression.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP).

Preferred:
  • Master's Degree preferred, with an emphasis in Financial Management, Business Administration or a closely related field
  • Experience with Banner Financial System preferred.
  • Knowledge of MMARS state accounting system preferred.
  • Understanding of higher education principles, practices and procedures preferred.

Additional Information:

Position Status: Non-Unit Professional, Full-Time State Funded with Benefits.

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: $91,500 - $118,948 Annually
