Full-Time | Exempt | $95,000-$125,000 Base + Bonus
30A Company is looking for an experienced Director of Apparel Buying & Merchandising to lead apparel buying, merchandising, inventory strategy, and vendor relationships across our growing retail portfolio and e-commerce channel.
This is a key leadership role with significant influence over retail revenue, margin, inventory investment, and the overall customer experience.
What You'll Do
  • Lead apparel buying and vendor negotiations across all 30A Market retail locations and e-commerce.
  • Develop seasonal buy plans, open-to-buy budgets, and inventory investment strategies.
  • Identify fashion, resort, and lifestyle trends and translate them into profitable assortments for our 30A customer.
  • Manage assortment architecture, SKU rationalization, size curves, and demand forecasting.
  • Analyze sell-through, margins, inventory turns, and aged inventory to guide future buying decisions.
  • Oversee inventory allocation, replenishment, and transfers between stores and e-commerce.
  • Establish store floorplans, visual merchandising standards, and presentation consistency.
  • Plan initial assortments and inventory allocations for new store openings.
  • Partner with the CMO and marketing team on product launches, promotions, and e-commerce merchandising calendars.
  • Build strong vendor relationships and represent 30A Market at markets and trade shows.
  • Explore private-label and exclusive product opportunities as the business grows.
What We're Looking For
  • 5-8+ years of experience in retail buying, merchandising, or planning.
  • Experience managing multiple retail locations, preferably in resort, tourist, lifestyle, or coastal retail.
  • Strong vendor negotiation skills with a proven ability to improve margins and terms.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with open-to-buy, sell-through, inventory turns, and margin performance.
  • E-commerce merchandising experience, including product presentation, inventory coordination, and promotional planning.
  • Experience overseeing floorplans and visual merchandising across multiple locations.
  • Comfortable managing a significant inventory investment budget and being accountable for financial results.
  • Strong fashion, trend, and product instincts combined with a data-driven approach.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $95,000-$125,000, depending on experience
Target Annual Bonus: 12% of base salary based on a balanced scorecard
