Director of AccountingWe are Looking to hire a Director of Accounting, responsible for organizing, directing, and supervising the work of accounting personnel performing lending, servicing, fixed assets, payroll, and cash application accounting activities.
Essential Functions:- Responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process. Assist hands-on in the monthly close process, including review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Responsible for driving process improvement and operational efficiency across all areas of responsibility.
- Coordination of the annual financial statement audit with the external auditor.
- Monitor and maintain an appropriate system of internal controls to ensure the integrity of the Company's financial information and safeguard Company assets in accordance with US GAAP.
- Support financial reporting issues, assess impact to organization, formalize positions and recommendations, document and ensure compliance.
- Review contracts and agreements, research relevant accounting guidance, provide accounting recommendations.
- Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Review of the Quarterly and Year-end tax provisions.
- Support as needed Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Vendor funding functions.
- Develop and perform analytical financial performance reviews of designated areas.
- Support management reporting of business segments and operating channels.
- Enhance the timeliness of completion and precision of the monthly reconciliations.
- Lead and assist with ad hoc projects.
Qualifications:Ideal candidate would have the following credentials and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
- Financial Services experience, specifically leasing
- 10+ years' experience in accounting and/or Audit
- Applicable experience in public accounting firm
- Excellent verbal, research, and written skills
- Experience creating financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and close processes
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet critical deadlines, and manage multiple workstreams
- Detail oriented and able to communicate simple and complex financial information
- Self-starter who takes ownership and acts with a sense of urgency
- Team player who wants to develop themselves, the team, and grow with the company
Software Skills:Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL 2018, Tableau, InfoLease, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
Additional Information:This is a hybrid position, based in our Mt. Laurel, NJ office, three days a week, with two days remote.
