Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Director, Nursing Administration, you will be responsible for the clinical and management aspects of your Department. Every day you will plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate, collaborating with staff, management, and physicians to ensure quality patient care and optimum outcomes. You will provide leadership and vision to maintain continuous quality care, and contribute to our Health Mission and Vision by developing and implementing programs, policies, and management systems. To be successful in this role, you will effectively lead and manage comprehensive nursing operations, driving quality patient outcomes, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the integration of services to deliver patient-centered, cost-effective care.
- HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENTEstablishes a process to define qualifications, responsibilities, competencies and staffing needed to provide care and services that meet the mission, vision, and values of CHI Saint Joseph Health.Utilizes a staffing plan that is multi-skilled and patient-focused to meet customer and service needs that effectively addresses staffing guidelines, productivity measures, and the hospital plan of care to provide safe and high quality service.Develops departmental work teams that successfully assess, revise, and improve work outcomes.Provides frequent and clear performance feedback to staff based on individual needs and job requirements.Provides or facilitates continuing education/training for team members, with particular focus on quality improvement in teams, use of equipment, interpersonal relationships, customer service, and leadership.Holds staff accountable for 100% attendance at mandatory education.Assures all new team members successfully complete general and department orientation within designated time frames.Assures all staff members are knowledgeable on all current hospital and department policies and procedures.Assures record of all staff licensure and certification is in the Joint Commission (TJC) department files and current at all times.Instills confidence in team members through recognition and reinforcement of successes by team and its members.Facilitates and fosters ongoing problem solving that utilizes teams and collaboration.Develops teams that can focus on immediate issues, move quickly, and achieve specific results as planned.Supports others to do their best, creating an atmosphere focused on results, achievement and recognition.
- FISCAL MANAGEMENTMaintains a unit/department business plan based on care and services provided that is in alignment with mission, vision, and values of CHI Saint Joseph Health.Monitors and modifies business plans according to shifts in demand for services and resource availability.Communicates business plans to staff and all others involved in supporting the provision of care and services.Continually defines, analyzes, and implements efficient workflow utilizing process improvement principles.
- MATERIALS MANAGEMENTUtilizes a systematic plan for meeting material and capital needs that is based on available resources and consistent with the mission, vision, and values of CHI Saint Joseph Health.Utilizes a systematic process for assessing and projecting material and capital needs on a yearly and 3 year basis.Utilizes an ongoing system that effectively manages material and supply usage.

Saint Joseph East also includes the Women's Hospital at Saint Joseph East which is dedicated to supporting the well-being of women in Central and Eastern Kentucky and serves a 16-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
