Job Summary

This position supports senior leadership on site selection and location strategy engagements for Newmark's corporate clients, while managing specific client workstreams and select assignments. The role is client-facing and analytical, responsible for data analysis, location and cost modeling, utility assessment, GIS integration, market due diligence, and the development of client-ready deliverables through every stage of the investment decision. This position will work across the full breadth of Newmark's Global Strategy group, with exposure to and collaboration with incentives and economic development specialists.

The role will involve primarily North America engagements but will be exposed to global accounts and opportunities in EMEA, LATAM and AsiaPac.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior leadership in executing and delivering site selection and location strategy engagements.
  • Perform the analytical work behind location recommendations, including, but not limited to, labor and real estate market analysis, operating cost comparisons, and risk assessment.
  • Build and apply qualitative models to screen and prioritize candidate locations and footprint location scenario.
  • Conduct GIS-based spatial analysis, including site screening, labor catchment, drive-time, and infrastructure proximity.
  • Plan and execute in-market due diligence trips to validate desktop analysis and inform corporate client investment decisions.
  • Develop client-ready deliverables, including, but not limited to, recommendation decks, location strategy memos, and site comparison frameworks.
  • Interface with senior-level client stakeholders and deliver board-ready recommendations.
  • Manage select smaller engagements from scope through final recommendation.
  • Support incentives and economic development engagements as needed.
  • Support RFI/RFP responses, proposal development, and pitch materials.
  • Comfort leveraging AI and automation to streamline analysis and delivery workflows.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Economics, Real Estate, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field; advanced degree a plus but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in site selection, location strategy, GIS, commercial real estate advisory, economic development, or management consulting.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with hands-on GIS and spatial analysis experience.
  • Ability to build models that inform location and real estate decisions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; advanced MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients, economic development officials, real estate brokers, developers, public officials and other stakeholders.
  • Hands-on skills with Python, SQL, BI tools, and modern GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS) preferred.
  • Familiarity with labor-market analytics platforms (e.g., Lightcast/Emsi) and economic/fiscal impact modeling (e.g., IMPLAN, RIMS II) preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time.
