Duties & ResponsibilitiesPurpose of Position:
Under direction of senior leadership, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, is responsible for organizing, directing and coordinating the activities of a department within MetroPlus Health, which is compromised of the following services, New York State Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare, Child Health Plus, Exchange, Partnership in Care, MetroPlus Gold, and Essential Plan. Acts in compliance with all applicable local, state, federal and NYC Health + Hospitals rules and regulations. May serve as deputy to senior leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manages, supervises, coordinates and evaluates operations of MetroPlus Health.
2. Develops operating plans, programs and procedures to implement programmatic goals and objectives.
3. Assists division heads in the development of MetroPlus Health policies and procedures, and translates administrative policies, goals and objectives into working programs.
4. Provides recommendations and direction concerning proposed projects and/or other related programs.
5. Assists in the development of budgets and allocation of funds based on studies of costs, reviews of a department.
6. Reviews and analyzes data to identify areas of focus and opportunities for improvement.
7. Ensures timely reporting and documentation of all departmental activities, performance and progress towards goals to present to senior leadership.
8. Serves as a liaison with other departments to assist in providing technical, administrative and support services.
9. May represent MetroPlus Health in the development of cooperative relationships with community and in matters Involving City, Regional, State and/or Federal agencies.
10. May supervise and implement strategies to support and develop departmental personnel.
11. Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare Administration, Health Care Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration, Hospitality Management or a related discipline; and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration or public administration, with an emphasis on medical management, provider operations, utilization management, regulatory and compliance, or related administrative or managerial functions; or
2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in "1" above; and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in areas, as listed in "1".
