Job Overview

Strategic and operational responsibility for leading and managing all aspects and activities associated within the materials management function for Endovascular Solutions and Cardiovascular Surgery product areas. Apply disciplined supply chain planning and management practices to support strategic sourcing processes for all direct and indirect spending, integrate procurement standards and activities for top suppliers, deliver annual savings targets for the organization, manage supply planning and plant scheduling, manage direct customer service operations and harmonize plant operations with the S&OP process. Provide direction to Global Segment (Plastics) Sourcing Specialist to execute Getinge's purchasing and supplier global strategies.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
  • Member of Merrimack Senior Leadership Team
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the materials management supply planning functions by developing purchasing, planning and direct customer service teams for the site.
  • Responsible for Business Area alignment with inventory objectives (raw material, WIP, and FG) as established by corporate and plant senior leadership.
  • Responsible with team to ensure satisfactory supplier performance to fulfill sites objectives.
  • Develop and drive execution of logistics strategies to reduce waste and improve materials flow.
  • Ensure quality requirements and compliance processes are achieved
  • Provide cross-functional materials, purchasing, planning and direct customer service leadership for new product introduction, required engineering changes, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Refine master scheduling and planning processes aligned with business strategy.
  • Develop processes that assure timely materials availability to production to reduce downtime, insure on-time inventory performance, maximize production efficiency and satisfy customer and financial requirements.
  • Effectively engage with functional groups and site management to establish plans and targets for partnering with them across the procurement value chain to drive ongoing value (savings, value-add services, NPD, etc.), improve service levels, ensure fit-for-purpose goods/services, ensure contractual compliance, etc.
  • Work with senior management and functional leadership to select and prioritize strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management initiatives across functions and categories and align stakeholders and resources to execute the agreed-to initiatives and to track/manage actual performance relative to the established targets.
  • Ensure identification of critical suppliers, define supply risks, establish mitigation plan and ensure business continuity planning.
  • Monitor and establish improvement targets to pre-defined key performance metrics for the supply base within the site or to suppliers assigned globally.
  • Implement sustainability criteria and programs with suppliers.
  • Ensure and monitor company compliance with contractual obligations, sourcing policies, and preferred supplier arrangements while managing department budget and control processes.
  • Encourage internal collaboration, knowledge sharing, compliance with best practices, and established category/commodity management processes.
  • Collaborate with CommOps and SSUs to meet customer needs and manage expectations for lead time and stocking levels.
  • Execute global plastics segment-specific strategies to streamline and consolidate Getinge's supplier base with a focus on strategic partners that align with Getinge's quality, ESG, compliance and continuous improvement goals.


Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or Business preferred, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of eight years of functional and leadership experience within supply chain operations with sourcing, procurement, and planning experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supply chain experience with Medical Device Manufacturer.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledgeable of commodity strategies including spend and supply market analysis, cost savings methodology, requirements planning and performance reporting.
  • Understanding of industry Quality Control Standards (ISO, AQL) and/or experience in a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications are required (Word/Excel).
  • Understanding of MRP and ERP systems required. Knowledge of Oracle and SAP a plus.

Supervision/Management Of Others:
  • Responsible for the development and management of personnel and programs in Materials Management

  • Interacts with others in and across departments/sites and may include external contacts.


Environmental/Safety/Physical Work Conditions
  • Ensures environmental consciousness and safe practices are exhibited in decisions
  • Use of computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories/devices to complete assignments
  • May work extended hours during peak business cycles
  • May travel up to 25% which includes both domestic and international travel
