Director, Marketing Ops & Capabilities

What you will do

The Director, Media Operations & Marketing Capabilities will lead the strategy, governance, and execution of key marketing operations and capability-building initiatives across North America. This role is accountable for driving operational excellence, advancing marketing capabilities, leading agency partnerships, and overseeing high-priority cross-brand initiatives that accelerate growth and transformation.

The Director serves as a critical connector between Global and North America teams, ensuring capability strategies, operating models, and investment priorities align to business objectives and deliver measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Capabilities Strategy & Leadership

  • Define the vision, roadmap, and priorities for Marketing Operations and Capabilities across North America.

  • Establish annual objectives, KPIs, and success measures.

  • Prioritize investments across operational excellence, capability development, and content creation.

  • Balance resources across brands, enterprise priorities, and transformational initiatives.

  • Partner closely with Marketing leadership to identify and remove barriers to execution.

  • Ensure alignment between North America and Global marketing operating models.

Marketing Operations & Agency Partnership

  • Lead governance and optimization of agency partnerships across media, creative, commerce, social, influencer, and production disciplines.

  • Drive agency performance management and value realization.

  • Resolve strategic operational challenges and key decision points.

  • Lead future-state operating model development as capabilities mature.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify marketing workflows and improve efficiency.

  • Partner closely with Procurement on agency strategy, scope, and performance management.

Cross-Brand Strategic Initiatives

  • Sponsor and lead enterprise marketing initiatives across future growth programs.

  • Align stakeholders across Brand Marketing, Media, Commerce, Digital, CBI, and other functions.

  • Establish governance, decision-making frameworks, and activation roadmaps.

  • Remove organizational barriers and escalate critical issues.

  • Ensure insights and learnings are scaled across the organization.

Global & North America Capability Integration

  • Represent North America priorities within Global capability programs.

  • Influence global roadmap decisions and investment priorities.

  • Drive adoption of critical global initiatives within the U.S. market.

  • Share best practices and scale successful programs across regions.

  • Identify opportunities to pilot and test emerging capabilities.

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on operations, transformation, capability building, and content creation.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in marketing operations, marketing excellence, capability development, agency management, or commercial transformation roles within a complex, matrixed organization.

  • Proven experience developing and executing marketing operating models, governance frameworks, and capability-building strategies that improve organizational effectiveness and business outcomes.

  • Deep experience managing agency partnerships, scope planning, resource allocation, and vendor relationships to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and return on investment.

  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams, including direct leadership of managers and cross-functional teams.

  • Strong track record leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across Marketing, Media, Digital, Commerce, Insights, Finance, Procurement, and other enterprise functions.

  • Experience establishing KPIs, performance metrics, and operational processes to drive accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with execution, making complex decisions that influence organizational priorities, resource allocation, and business growth.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around a common vision.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience leading large-scale marketing transformation, capability-building, or shared-services initiatives across multiple brands, business units, or geographies.

  • Demonstrated success designing and evolving agency operating models, content production ecosystems, or marketing resource management processes.

  • Experience partnering across global and regional organizations to influence priorities, drive adoption of enterprise capabilities, and scale best practices.

  • Strong understanding of modern marketing ecosystems, including content creation, media operations, digital marketing, marketing technology, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Experience identifying and scaling cross-brand growth opportunities through collaborative, enterprise-wide initiatives.

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled marketing capabilities, workflow automation, and emerging technologies that improve marketing effectiveness and operational efficiency.

  • Experience within consumer packaged goods, consumer health, healthcare, or similarly fast-paced, highly matrixed environments preferred.

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:

$190,825.00 - $269,400.00
