Full Job Description
The Director, Strategic Marketing, will ensure the business develops and executes an effective business strategy for growth, which includes market analysis, branding and communication, product management, and market and competitor analysis. Responsibilities include the product innovation road map and identifying new applications and markets in strategic growth segments. The Director, Strategic Marketing will provide management oversight for setting global marketing business priorities, establishing stretch goals, overseeing development and execution of action plans to achieve, deploying resources optimally to drive results and leading new efforts focused on creating and optimizing go-to-market strategies and plans.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leverage Nordson's Ascend Strategy and NBS Next system to identify and pursue high-value opportunities, driving above-market organic growth.
  • Lead and drive PA global business development initiatives, collaborate with PA Leadership team and cross-functional stakeholders to assess new business opportunities, align initiatives with revenue growth goals, develop implementation plans and track implementation plans to ensure focus and execution.
  • Drive key business processes, market insights, and analysis to support strategy deployment.
  • Define and track key strategic performance metrics (e.g., revenue, timeliness, pipeline value), establish root cause countermeasures for misses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead ongoing competitive analysis at the division level; develop strategies to win in focused markets.
  • Lead the strategic planning process, including analysis and prioritization of growth initiatives, marketing strategy, and development of presentations for Corporate Leadership.
  • Build strong partnerships with commercial teams, product innovation, functional leaders, key customers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Foster voice of customer engagement to understand market needs and direction.
  • Responsible for overall PA's product portfolio management including both PA and non-PA products which are sold by PA. Collaborate with functional stakeholders to define development portfolio priorities, establish business justifications for product/capability expansion, apply financial criteria to prioritize the pipeline, and conduct regular portfolio health reviews.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term product, market, and capability roadmaps to deliver strategic priorities and ensure sustained profitable growth.
  • Develop and maintain pricing strategy for all product categories in line with growth and profit expectations; monitor category profitability and drive pricing actions or cost initiatives to achieve margin targets.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of professionals with strong business and strategy acumen; attract, engage, develop, and retain talent to build bench strength.
  • Lead and manage ongoing simplification activities to reduce complexity in support of division objectives.
  • Establish credibility, rapport, respect, and trust across the PA organization; work effectively as a team player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field. MBA or other graduate degree preferred
  • Experience in strategic marketing, strategic planning and analysis, including relevant professional experience in having led products through full life cycle
  • Key account and sales management experiences are plus
  • Led and/or built a high performing team
  • Worked in a global organization
