Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Director, Manufacturing Operations - Level 1, to join our Manufacturing and Operations (M&O) organization supporting the central region. This role will be located in Chandler AZ.

Role and Impact:
  • Manage a group of high performing engineers and process owners at multiple locations establishing objectives, providing direction, and ensuring strategic alignment to support the M&O goals and objectives for the Central Region sites.
  • Act as an advisor to subordinate managers and staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems.
  • Team and collaborate closely with internal & external customers and stakeholders, including, but not limited to, Programs, Safety, Manufacturing, Mission Assurance, Global Supply Chain, and Facilities.
  • Manage, coach and drive continuous improvement of processes, procedures, work instructions, tools, metrics, and training materials to achieve safety, quality, schedule and cost goals for M&O in the Central Region.
  • Drive implementation of consistent practices and best practices for capacity analysis and production planning as part of Space Sector initiatives for M&O.
  • Support planning for CAPEX to support manufacturing needs for our Central Region.
  • Develop staffing strategies to support program needs while managing direct and indirect budgets.
  • Manage employee/team talent development, performance management and career development.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the organization and its processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including people management experience, in a manufacturing related environment - OR - Master's degree with 8+ years of relevant professional experience, including people management experience, in a manufacturing related environment.
  • Experience in a continuous improvement, process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and metrics management environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve organizational health through being aligned as an organization, executing effectively, genuinely and meaningfully connecting with employees and managing employees.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills. Clear, demonstrated commitment to open communication and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field.
  • Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement training/experience.
  • Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) experience.
  • An active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Primary Level Salary Range: $160,200.00 - $240,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
