Job Summary

Oversee all production operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality standards are met while aligning with company goals. Manage staff, budgets and schedules, implement lean manufacturing and ensure compliance with regulations. Key duties include improving production, reducing costs and driving technical improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Operation Oversight: Manage the manufacturing department, focusing on production, performance and quality standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to set long-range operating goals, budgets, and expansion efforts as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor manufacturing employees; manage schedules and performance.
  • Efficiency & Quality: Implement Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with federal/state safety regulations and industry-specific standards (e.g., cGMP).
  • Inventory & Resource Management: Oversee production schedules and resource allocation to meet delivery targets.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely available of materials.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and operability of manufacturing equipment


Skills required

  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing software, technologies and data analysis to monitor KPI's
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong project management skills


Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field
  • Master's degree or MBA in a related discipline is highly desirable
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Potentially prolonged periods standing
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be willing to travel
