Director of Legislative Affairs

Columbus, OH | National Scope

We’re seeking an experienced Director of Legislative Affairs to help advance our legislative, regulatory, and political strategy across the United States.

This is a high‑visibility role for a government affairs leader who knows how to influence policy, build coalitions, and protect business interests at scale. You will represent the company across all 50 states (and occasionally at the federal level), partnering with elected officials, regulators, trade associations, and industry leaders to shape outcomes that matter.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive legislative and regulatory advocacy aligned to company priorities
  • Build trusted relationships with state, local, and federal stakeholders
  • Lead political programs including PAC strategy, grassroots engagement, and bill tracking
  • Advise leadership on policy developments, risks, and opportunities
  • Ensure full compliance with lobbying, ethics, and campaign finance laws

The ideal candidate brings:

  • 7–9+ years of government affairs, public policy, or legislative experience
  • Willing & able to be onsite 5 days/week (Headquarters = Columbus, OH)
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes across jurisdictions
  • Proven ability to influence through coalition‑building and direct advocacy
  • Exceptional judgment, credibility, and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MPA or JD preferred
