Full Job Description
Job Description

The Director of IT Infrastructure, Operations & Enterprise Applications is the primary architect and operator of the organization's digital health ecosystem. This role consolidates the management of foundational Connectivity (Network/Voice), Modern Compute (Cloud/On-Prem), and the Software Layer (Enterprise Apps). This role will report to the Chief Technology Officer.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Oversight & AI Integration
  • AI & Innovation Scouting: Allocate time to review the performance of active AI models (e.g., predictive patient flow or automated coding) and assess the infrastructure requirements for upcoming ML (machine learning) pilots.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Review: Review automated deployment pipelines to ensure that network, server, and Epic environments are being provisioned consistently without manual error.
  • Cloud FinOps Management: Monitor daily cloud consumption dashboards to optimize spend across Azure, AWS (Amazon Web Services), or GCP(Google Cloud Platform), ensuring resources are scaled appropriately for peak clinical hours.
  • UX and Cloud Management: Work with the teams to develop and support highly performant solutions and reduce the strain of team members managing such a large infrastructure.

2. Epic & Enterprise Application Health
  • ECSA(Epic Client Server Administrator) Environment Check: Review the daily health reports of the Epic ECSA stack. This includes monitoring the performance of Hyperspace web servers, Interconnect instances, and ensuring Print Service queues are clear.
  • Interoperability Monitoring: Verify the stability of API(Application Programming Interface) gateways and middleware (e.g., Cloverleaf or Rhapsody) that facilitate data flow between the EHR and secondary enterprise applications.
  • Change Management Gatekeeping: Act as the final technical authority on the daily Change Advisory Board (CAB) to ensure that updates to the network or enterprise apps won't disrupt clinical workflows.

3. Network, Voice, and Connectivity
  • Zero-Trust Security Review: Collaborate with the Security Director to review daily security logs, focusing on identity management and "Zero-Trust" access for remote clinicians and VDI(Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) users.
  • Voice & UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) Performance: Audit the quality-of-service (QoS) metrics for the enterprise VoIP system to ensure telehealth sessions and internal emergency communications are high-fidelity.
  • Network Resilience: Confirm that SD-WAN and failover circuits for satellite clinics and regional hospitals are operational and have cleared automated nightly tests.

4. Leadership & Vendor Relations
  • Daily Stand-ups: Lead a high-intensity morning sync with the Infrastructure, Network, and App teams to identify and unblock "P1" or "P2" tickets.
  • Vendor Accountability: Hold brief touchpoints with key partners (e.g., Epic technical reps, Cloud providers, or Hardware vendors) to review SLA compliance and upcoming patch cycles.
  • Mentorship & Culture: Spend time with senior engineers and architects to foster a culture of "Automate Everything," encouraging the team to replace repetitive manual tasks with scripted solutions.
  • Coordinate with Field Ops: work with Field Operations to manage and enhance customer experience. Maintains understanding of knowledge gaps between the teams and help close those gaps through scheduled education and support meetings.

Qualifications

Experience: 10 years with 7 years of supervisory experience with enterprise systems and some Epic infrastructure experience.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in ISDS, Computer Science or related field.
