Job Description

The Director of Clinical Informatics and Epic Clinical Training leads the strategy, implementation, optimization, and support of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) across Mosaic Life Care. This role ensures that clinical training and workflow/technology design align with organizational goals and deliver measurable improvements in quality, safety, patient and caregiver experience, and operational efficiency. The Director partners with clinical, financial, technology, and operational leaders to enable high-quality, patient-centered care.

The Director oversees teams responsible for clinical workflow design and optimization and Epic clinical training, ensuring solutions are designed, built, maintained, and taught in ways that meet user needs and support enterprise growth, adoption, and transformation.
Responsibilities

  • Align clinical workflow design and training strategy with the organizational roadmap, goals, and priorities.
  • Partner with clinical, technology, and operational leaders to identify and deliver Epic-enabled solutions that improve patient care and experience, caregiver experience, and financial performance.
  • Represent Informatics and Training in enterprise meetings and committees to support coordinated planning, prioritization, and communication.
  • Identify inefficiencies and underutilization; lead optimization initiatives (e.g., Epic Gold Stars, Honor Roll) to maximize value, quality, and experience.
  • Set team goals, metrics, and performance expectations across areas of responsibility, aligned to departmental priorities.
  • Coach, develop, and hold team members accountable through ongoing feedback and development planning.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, deliverables, and budgets across initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to clinicians, operational leaders, and technology teams in advancing strategic and operational objectives.
  • Lead change management and communications that promote adoption, collaboration, and consistent system-wide practices.
  • Design, implement, and maintain role-based Epic training programs for providers, nursing, and clinical support staff, including standards, competency validation, and ongoing education; ensure training content reflects current build and optimized workflows.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators for training effectiveness, end-user adoption, and system utilization; implement improvements based on results.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree - In field of health informatics, adult education, a related field, or equivalent experience - Required


Work Experience
  • 3 Years - experience in clinical informatics, EHR optimization, healthcare operations or related field - Required
  • 2 Years - Experience with Epic systems in both inpatient and outpatient settings - Required
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills - Preferred
