Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services and/or designee, the Director of the Arts develops, plans, coordinates, and directs District-wide comprehensive art programs in the areas of visual arts, fine arts, applied arts, and performing arts. The Director oversees the implementation of elementary arts instruction and experiences during the instructional day and for after-school arts programs. The Director supports District-designated arts schools in their vision that includes an integrated arts approach. The Director organizes and oversees District arts events, student showcases, and outreach programs, including art festivals, junior high choral and dance competitions, and community art experiences. The Director manages District and state-level arts funding resources, among other duties as assigned.

A valid teaching credential is required; an Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility is required.
