Job Description:Director I Carelon Account Management - Behavioral Health - Louisiana CrisisLocation: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. Candidates must reside in Louisiana and be willing to commute to the Baton Rouge area as needed for state engagement.

The
Director I Carelon Account Management is responsible for directing account management retention activities for Carelon within an assigned book of business, including a behavioral health crisis contract supporting the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) Office of Behavioral Health (OBH). This role supports the statewide Crisis Hub, which connects eligible individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis to appropriate community-based care through triage, referral, and dispatch to available crisis services.
How you will make an impact:- Provides leadership and strategic direction to ensure book of business meets profitability standards while supporting successful delivery of the Louisiana Crisis Hub contract.
- Develops strategies to achieve assigned retention and upsell goals and strengthens relationships with state, parish, provider, and community stakeholders.
- Provides input to product development teams to develop new products and deliver them to market constituents, incorporating behavioral health crisis-system and stakeholder needs.
- Acts as a thought leader and innovator on behalf of the client, who is driving significant growth and evolution of their crisis system of care.
- Supports ongoing development of proprietary software provided to the client and providers as part of contract scope; leads discussions between client and internal experts to deliver additional solutions as part of contract scope (data teams, Provider Quality teams, software development teams).
- Consults with providers and stakeholders throughout Louisiana to further promote the client's goals and objectives for the crisis system of care
- Supports a local leadership team who act as additional contacts and resources for the client. This includes a team of remote outreach personnel embedded within communities around the state who engage actively in their communities with stakeholders and providers to troubleshoot and support clear communication of client's objectives.
- Collaborates with Functional Leads, call center leadership, community and provider engagement teams, state partners, and matrix partners in support of meeting all performance guarantees and contractual deliverables.
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports responsible for provider relations, community relations, and stakeholder engagement.
Minimum Requirements:Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 8 years of professional/leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:- MBA preferred.
- Current behavioral health license (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Leadership experience within behavioral health crisis services, crisis-system navigation, crisis call center operations, 988 services, mobile crisis, or a comparable behavioral health crisis continuum preferred.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in behavioral health crisis systems, including crisis referral, triage, coordination, mobile crisis engagement, provider navigation, community resources, and how the components of the crisis continuum work together preferred.
- Experience managing state government, public-sector, Medicaid, or other complex healthcare contracts and independently representing an organization with state leaders, government agencies, providers, community organizations, and senior-level stakeholders preferred.
- Demonstrated executive presence and exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex crisis-system and operational information into clear, consistent messaging for government clients, provider communities, internal leaders, and other stakeholders, including during sensitive or escalated situations, preferred.
- Experience leading teams and successfully navigating complex matrix environments across corporate, government, provider, and community stakeholders, with demonstrated resiliency, tenacity, relationship management, strategic influence, and ability to balance competing stakeholder priorities preferred.
