JOB SUMMARY

Boardwalk Investments Group is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead full-cycle HR operations for our organization. This role owns the full HR function, from payroll and benefits administration to compliance, and employee relations. This person serves as a strategic partner to department heads and executive leadership. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and wants to shape HR strategy at a growing organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Payroll & Benefits
  • Serve as plan administrator for 401(k) and all company benefit plans, including processing changes for deferral percentages and qualifying life events
  • Evaluate current benefit plans annually and provide renewal recommendations
  • Support Workers' Compensation case management and administration

Compliance & Policy
  • Maintain and audit compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Establish, revise, and implement company policies and procedures
  • Respond to federal, state, and local tax agency notices and reporting requests
  • Lead workplace safety and health initiatives

Talent & Employee Relations
  • Resolve employee complaints and manage employee relations issues
  • Lead the employee performance communication and review process
  • Assist in developing and implementing training programs
  • Develop compensation structures and pay grades by department
  • Develop and lead initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and engagement

Strategic Partnership
  • Regularly meet and collaborate with department heads and executive leadership on HR strategy and organizational needs
  • Perform additional duties as required

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in Human Resources Management or a related field from an accredited university required
  • Master's degree and/or HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of full-cycle HR experience and/or equivalent training
  • Strong working knowledge of California labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Experience in commercial real estate and/or hospitality industries preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically and execute operationally
  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality across all matters
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • A flexible, solutions-oriented attitude with strong dependability and customer service orientation
