Director - Hugh Performance Computing Solutions

Compensation Range: 140,000 - 190,000 -200,000 + Variable Bonus
Location: Schaumburg, IL or Remote

Position Summary
The Director, HPC Solutions is responsible for leading Rittal's HPC customer strategy, business growth, and solution development across major cloud, AI, and data center customers. This role serves as the executive relationship leader for assigned HPC accounts and drives the successful delivery of enclosure systems, power distribution solutions, thermal management technologies, liquid cooling solutions, and related infrastructure offerings. The role requires strong commercial leadership, technical acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to support large-scale deployments and long-term strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Leadership
  • Develop and execute the North American HPC growth strategy.
  • Identify new opportunities within cloud, AI, colocation, and HPC markets.
  • Build multi-year account plans aligned with customer expansion initiatives.
  • Partner with global Rittal teams to support strategic customer requirements and international projects.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with HPC customers.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for strategic business, operational, and technical issues.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews and executive customer meetings.
  • Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and account expansion initiatives.
Solution Development & Delivery
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to deliver customer solutions.
  • Lead introduction of new products, product transitions, and customized infrastructure solutions.
  • Support deployment of rack systems, power distribution, cooling technologies, direct liquid cooling systems, and integrated data center solutions.
  • Ensure projects achieve customer quality, delivery, and performance expectations.
  • Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
Financial Management
  • Own revenue growth, profitability, forecasting, and business planning for HPC accounts.
  • Develop pricing strategies and commercial proposals.
  • Monitor KPIs related to sales growth, margin performance, customer satisfaction, and project execution.
  • Support contract negotiations and long-term commercial agreements.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Lead and influence teams across Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project Management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability, responsiveness, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor and develop high-performing talent supporting HPC customers.
