Full Job Description
Overview

At Foot Locker, the Director, Strategic Initiatives - Global Agentic Competency Center will initially lead the buildout of a captive Global Agentic Competency Center (GCC/ACC) in Bangalore, India. This role owns the strategy, roadmap, governance, and delivery model for the GCC/ACC initiative while establishing scalable practices to support future enterprise-level strategic initiatives.

This role sits within the Office of Technology team, which owns department-level organizational change management and communications. It leads a team of direct reports and partners across senior leadership, technology, HR, Finance, Legal, Engineering, India-based GCC/ACC leadership, and external partners to translate strategic priorities into structured plans, measurable outcomes, and scalable ways of working.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do
  • Lead the GCC/ACC initiative from strategy through execution. Define and drive the roadmap for entity readiness, talent ramp, technology enablement, operating model design, and governance.
  • Create a scalable model for future strategic initiatives. Establish repeatable program structures, governance routines, planning standards, and delivery practices that can be leveraged beyond GCC/ACC.
  • Shape the ACC operating model and technology workforce strategy. Define how the center operates, how work is governed, and how global technology teams collaborate in new ways, in partnership with Product, Agile Enablement, and DSG ways-of-working leaders.
  • Advance a unified Product and Engineering operating model. Partner with Product and Technology leadership to bring Product and Engineering teams closer together, evolving shared operating rhythms, governance, and ways of working in tandem with the global operating model established through Product and Agile Enablement.
  • Govern workforce strategy and IPT resourcing design. Manage governance for ideal product team headcount, roles, and resourcing structures in partnership with Product, Agile Enablement, Finance, HR, and Compensation, helping improve operating-model efficiency and strengthen alignment across technology leadership, product management, and enabling business capabilities.
  • Orchestrate future DSG/Foot Locker technology integration initiatives. Coordinate future integration efforts in tandem with the GCC/ACC buildout and operating model work, helping maintain high-performing teams, align ways of working, and sustain technology delivery effectiveness across the combined organization.
  • Lead and develop a team of direct reports. Set priorities, coach talent, manage performance, and build a high-performing team capable of driving strategic programs.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional execution. Partner across Foot Locker, HR, Finance, Legal, Engineering, India-based GCC/ACC leadership, and external vendors to align dependencies, remove blockers, and deliver outcomes.
  • Own governance, communications, and change coordination. Facilitate leadership reviews, prepare executive-ready updates, manage escalations, and support stakeholder readiness through the Office of Technology.
  • Drive planning, prioritization, and benefits realization. Translate strategic objectives into integrated plans, milestones, KPIs, resource needs, and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage risks, issues, and dependencies. Identify risks early, drive mitigation plans, escalate appropriately, and keep teams aligned to timeline, scope, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Enable global ways of working. Establish effective collaboration routines across geographies, time zones, cultures, and functions.
  • Champion continuous improvement. Evaluate program effectiveness and improve processes, delivery practices, and ways of working.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring
  • 15+ years of experience leading large-scale technology, transformation, or strategic initiatives in complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading global or cross-border programs across multiple functions, geographies, brands, or business units.
  • Experience building or scaling a GCC/ACC, captive delivery center, offshore delivery model, nearshore technology hub, or similar global capability model strongly preferred.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including managing direct reports, developing talent, and building accountable, high-performing teams.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, facilitate decisions, and communicate complex topics clearly.
  • Experience partnering across HR, Finance, Legal, Technology, Engineering, and vendors to deliver complex outcomes.
  • Strong program management discipline, including roadmap development, planning, dependency management, risk mitigation, governance, reporting, and benefits tracking.
  • Experience with agile delivery practices, SDLC methodologies, technology operating models, and change leadership.
  • Ability to operate strategically while staying close enough to execution to identify issues, remove blockers, and drive measurable outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting global technology operations in India or familiarity with India labor market dynamics, entity formation, compliance, or employer brand strategy.
  • Experience leading cross-brand, post-merger, or multi-entity technology integration programs.
  • Master's degree, PMP certification, change management certification, or related professional certification.
  • Exposure to modern technology architectures, CI/CD toolchains, microservices, agile product delivery, or enterprise engineering practices.

What Success Looks Like
  • The GCC/ACC initiative is executed through a clear roadmap with visible milestones, accountable owners, and measurable outcomes.
  • Senior leaders have consistent visibility into progress, risks, decisions, and value realization.
  • The Director builds a high-performing team that can lead key workstreams and scale delivery practices for future initiatives.
  • Foot Locker technology teams are aligned around shared priorities, dependencies, and operating rhythms.
  • The GCC/ACC operating model becomes a repeatable blueprint for future transformation and capability-building efforts.

Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • Agile or Scrum certification preferred.
  • PMP certification or equivalent program management knowledge preferred.
  • OCM, CCMP, or related change management certification or knowledge preferred.

Clarification: What This Role Is Not
  • This role does not own GCC/ACC strategy, scope, or the multi-year roadmap; those decisions sit with senior leadership in partnership with the VP of Foundational Technology and the CTO.
  • This role does not own the GCC/ACC financial model or budget authority; it partners with Finance and senior leadership on inputs, tracking, forecasting, and variance reporting.
  • This role does not own vendor contracting, SLA governance, or strategic vendor decisions; it coordinates vendor activity and tracks deliverables against milestones.
  • This role does not independently own enterprise change management or operating-model decisions; it supports readiness, adoption tracking, and coordination with HR and transformation partners.
  • This role does not directly manage India-based GCC/ACC teams; in-country operations and people leadership are owned by GCC/ACC site leadership.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, executive communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to connect strategy to measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including building teams, developing talent, and driving engagement.
  • Strong program execution skills, including planning, prioritization, dependency management, issue resolution, and governance.
  • Ability to manage complexity, make sound decisions, and solve problems in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Strong collaboration, organizational awareness, and ability to influence across functions and leadership levels.
  • High accountability, detail orientation, and commitment to delivering against goals, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.

The annual base salary range is $175,000 -$200,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance.
