Position SummaryThe Director of Global Supply Chain is responsible for the strategic design and operational execution of Cold Jet's end-to-end global supply chain. This role oversees aggressive strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives, while implementing inventory management strategies to support Cold Jet's manufacturing and distribution facilities. Serves as a visionary leader who champions a high-performance culture rooted in transparency, accountability, and pursuit of excellence across all supply chain functions.
Position ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies focused on identifying high quality partners and cost savings initiatives
- Lead procurement team to negotiate long term contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure scalability
- Monitor supplier performance metrics to resolve quality or delivery issues efficiently through proactive problem-solving
- Review purchasing procedures and instruction methods for global alignment, accuracy, and improvement
Inventory Optimization
- Implement advanced inventory models to balance working capital with the need for part availability for global service departments
- Develop comprehensive strategies for inventory levels that span the entire product lifecycle, from initial New Part Introduction (NPI) through service and aftermarket support
- Maximize the utilization of ERP systems to automate inventory control functions, ensuring real-time data accuracy
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Customer Service and Sales for Demand Planning/S&OP processes and Engineering for New Part Introduction (NPI)
- Act as primary project lead for strategic initiatives, providing visibility and regular updates as requested from senior leadership
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement across departments
Other Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of direct and dotted-line reports in a matrixed environment, focusing on professional growth and the elevation of global best practices
- Act as a backup for team members
- Travel up to 25% including some international as required
Position RequirementsEducation & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain or sourcing management
- 8-10 or more years of experience with global sourcing or supply chain strategy and leadership in the manufacturing sector. Experience with capital goods/machinery/devices preferred. Additional experience in inventory optimization and/or logistics a plus.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional Supply Manager (CPSM) desirable
