Director, Global Mobility & Immigration

Expedia Group is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Director, Global Mobility & Immigration, to lead the vision, design, and execution of our global mobility and immigration programs.

This leader will be responsible for developing scalable solutions that support international hiring, employee relocation and workforce mobility. The role will partner closely with People Team leaders, Talent Acquisition, Legal, Finance, Payroll, and business stakeholders to create programs that balance employee experience, operational effectiveness, compliance, and business objectives.

The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with operational excellence and brings a proven ability to modernize programs, leverage technology, and drive measurable business outcomes.

What You'll Do:

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Lead and develop a global team of mobility and immigration professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and partnership.


  • Develop and execute Expedia Group's global mobility and immigration strategy in alignment with business priorities, workforce planning, and talent acquisition objectives.


  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business leaders on workforce mobility, international hiring, talent deployment, and emerging mobility trends.


  • Partner with stakeholders across People, Legal, Finance, Payroll, and Talent Acquisition to ensure mobility programs support evolving organizational needs.


  • Evaluate workforce mobility implications associated with business expansion, organizational redesign, acquisitions, and new employment models.


  • Design scalable mobility solutions that support business growth while maintaining a strong focus on employee experience and compliance.


  • Support the mobility infrastructure required for new market entry, entity establishment, and organizational integration initiatives.


Program Leadership & Operations

  • Own the global mobility and immigration policy framework, including governance, risk management, and program design.


  • Lead global immigration and mobility programs, including work authorization, visa sponsorship, permanent residence support, and relocation services.


  • Establish governance frameworks that ensure consistent delivery, operational efficiency, and policy compliance.


  • Review and adapt mobility policies to ensure competitiveness, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.


  • Drive program effectiveness through continuous process improvement and service optimization.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with employee movement across jurisdictions.


Vendor Management

  • Oversee relationships with immigration, relocation, and mobility service providers.


  • Lead vendor selection, contract negotiations, service-level management, and performance reviews.


  • Conduct RFP processes and implement solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and employee experience.


  • Ensure vendor partnerships deliver scalable support aligned with Expedia Group's global workforce needs.


Technology, Analytics & Innovation

  • Champion the use of technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to enhance mobility and immigration operations.


  • Develop analytics, dashboards, and reporting capabilities that provide insights into program performance, workforce trends, service levels, and costs.


  • Establish key performance indicators and governance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.


  • Leverage data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making and optimize program outcomes.


  • Explore innovative approaches to improve employee experience and operational scalability.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience leading global mobility, immigration, relocation, or workforce mobility programs within complex multinational organizations.


  • Demonstrated success transforming mobility functions into strategic business enablers that support hiring, retention, workforce planning, and location strategy.


  • Strong understanding of global immigration processes, workforce mobility compliance requirements, payroll considerations, and regulatory frameworks.


  • Proven ability to influence and partner with senior leaders across HR, Legal, Finance, Payroll, and Talent Acquisition.


  • Strong track record of driving operational excellence, program transformation, change management, and service delivery improvements.


  • Experience managing global vendor ecosystems and complex stakeholder relationships.


Preferred

  • Experience supporting a publicly traded global organization.


  • Demonstrated ability to influence geographically dispersed stakeholders across multiple regions.


  • Experience building and scaling global programs during periods of organizational growth and transformation.


The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $207,500.00 to $290,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $332,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
