Job Description

The Director of Francise Planning and Analytics is responsible for developing the analytical tools, reporting systems and decision-support processes used to guide operations, development, market planning and portfolio strategy across the NA and LAMC Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty, and Firefly franchise network. Reporting to the Vice President, Franchise Americas, this position serves as the primary process leader responsible for franchisee business support, operational excellence, growth, performance improvement and cross-functional service delivery.

The starting salary for this position is $120,000, commensurate with experience.

A Day in the Life:

The Director partners closely with Franchise Development, Franchise Operations, Revenue Management, Marketing, Fleet, Finance, Legal, Customer Experience, and Information Technology teams to ensure franchise operators have the tools, resources, systems, analytics, and strategic guidance needed to maximize business performance, maintain brand standards, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

This role leads the development and execution of scalable support programs, business processes, operational reporting, franchise sales and new store development initiatives, performance management tools, market planning strategies, and franchise engagement programs. These efforts drive franchisee profitability, operational consistency, network growth, and long-term business sustainability.

What You'll Do:

Business Intelligence, Analytics & Market Planning
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, forecasts, and reporting that provide visibility into franchise development, location performance, market opportunities, and strategic initiatives
  • Analyze demographic, customer, competitive, operational, and financial data to identify growth opportunities, evaluate territories, support site selection, and inform market planning and development strategies
  • Transform complex data from multiple sources into actionable insights, executive-level recommendations, and decision-support tools that drive business performance
  • Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership through clear reporting, visualizations, and business narratives


Systems, Process Improvement & Technology
  • Design, implement, and optimize scalable reporting platforms, databases, workflows, and business systems that support Franchise Development, Operations, Real Estate, and related functions
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing enhancement of business intelligence, market planning, and forecasting tools, partnering with IT, vendors, and business stakeholders to improve data accessibility and reporting capabilities
  • Automate reporting and key business processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, visibility, and decision-making
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies that enhance analytics, collaboration, operational effectiveness, and franchise growth


Cross-Functional Leadership & Strategic Support
  • Partner with Franchise Development, Franchise Operations, Real Estate, Finance, Marketing, and other stakeholders to support strategic planning, forecasting, portfolio optimization, and growth initiatives
  • Facilitate cross-functional problem solving by gathering requirements, analyzing performance, identifying trends and opportunities, and delivering data-driven solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders by translating complex analyses into actionable recommendations and supporting major strategic, operational, and transformation initiatives
  • Train and support end users on reporting platforms, dashboards, and analytical tools while promoting a data-driven culture across the organization


Technology & Analytical Tools
  • Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and data visualization platforms
  • Kalibrate or comparable market planning, site selection, and forecasting tools
  • FranConnect or other franchise management systems
  • Microsoft Excel, Power Query, databases, and data transformation tools
  • Workflow automation, reporting, and operational business systems


What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of experience in business analytics, business intelligence, market planning, franchise development, or related functions within a multi-unit, franchise, retail, automotive, or similar environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing dashboards, automated reporting, data visualization, forecasting models, and decision-support tools that drive business performance
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large, complex datasets from multiple sources and translate business needs into actionable insights and technical solutions
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects from requirements gathering and solution design through implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making, support strategic planning, and drive data-informed business outcomes in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency with business intelligence, reporting, database, and data analysis tools, including Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and similar platforms
