Full Job Description
The Opportunity

The Director of FP&A will be a key strategic partner to the finance leadership team, the executive team, and business leaders across Catalis's verticals. This person will own the company's long-term financial model, expand the infrastructure to translate bookings into recognized ARR, and serve as a trusted advisor to vertical leaders and Sales Operations. This is a highly visible role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-business-unit, PE-backed environment and wants to shape how the company plans, forecasts, and measures growth.

What You Will Do

Long-Term Financial Modeling
  • Build, own, and continuously refine Catalis's 3-5 year long-term financial model, integrating revenue drivers, cost structure, headcount, capital plans, and M&A scenarios
  • Translate strategic and operating plans into financial projections that support board, investor, and lender reporting
  • Stress-test the model against alternative growth, pricing, and M&A scenarios to inform executive decision-making

Bookings-to-ARR Waterfall
  • Build and maintain the bookings-to-ARR Waterfall model, tracking how new bookings convert into recognized ARR over time based on implementation timelines, go-live schedules, ramp assumptions, churn, and upsell/cross-sell activity
  • Partner with Revenue Operations, Sales Ops, and Implementation/Delivery teams to keep underlying assumptions (sales cycle length, time-to-go-live, retention) current and defensible
  • Use the waterfall to reconcile bookings targets with ARR and revenue targets, and to explain variances between the two to leadership

Business Partnership
  • Build strong working relationships with leaders across Catalis's verticals (Payments, Tax & CAMA, Courts & Land Records, Public Works, Citizen Engagement, etc.), acting as their embedded finance partner
  • Support vertical leaders with P&L management, forecasting, budget-to-actual analysis, and business case development for new investments
  • Partner closely with Sales Operations on pipeline reviews, quota setting, bookings forecasting, sales compensation design, and rep productivity analysis

Planning, Reporting & Analysis
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and recurring reforecast cycles across the consolidated business and individual verticals
  • Own monthly and quarterly reporting packages, board materials, and variance analysis (bookings, ARR, revenue, margin, and cash)
  • Develop and maintain SaaS/recurring revenue KPIs (NRR, GRR, CAC, LTV, rule-of-40, magic number, etc.) and ensure consistent definitions across the business

M&A & Special Projects
  • Support financial diligence and integration modeling for acquisitions, consistent with Catalis's active M&A strategy
  • Lead or contribute to ad hoc strategic and financial analyses for the executive team and investors

  • Deep fluency in SaaS metrics and unit economics (ARR, NRR/GRR, CAC/LTV, bookings vs. revenue timing)
  • Advanced Excel/financial modeling skills
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with a track record of influencing non-finance stakeholders such as sales and vertical leaders
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications
