About the Role

Leads key financial functions, including internal and external reporting, Rent-a-BIN relationship oversight, accounting policy development, internal control evaluation, general ledger and risk management, budgeting, wire transfer operations, and purchasing. Manages the day-to-day operations of Finance, with a focus on administrative leadership, process improvement, and the development of effective financial controls across the organization.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Oversees regulatory reporting across multiple entities, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant submissions to federal agencies such as the FDIC and Federal Reserve. Reviews staff-prepared reports and maintains strong internal controls to support reporting integrity.
  • Leads the implementation of new or updated regulatory requirements by updating procedures, integrating reporting changes (e.g., new data fields), and ensuring staff are properly trained to maintain compliance with evolving standards.
  • Manages the preparation and review of annual audited financial statements across multiple entities. Researches and implements new accounting standards, leveraging staff support as needed to ensure timely and effective adoption.
  • Directs the monthly financial close process. Reviews financial results, key estimates, and supporting activities to ensure alignment with accounting standards and business objectives.
  • Leads the budgeting and forecasting processes by validating key assumptions, assessing resource needs, and guiding capacity planning through collaboration with department leaders and data-driven analysis.
  • Manages the Rent-a-BIN relationship, including annual risk assessments to evaluate financial, regulatory, and operational exposure. Oversees monthly monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance, performance, and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Oversees the wire transfer function, ensuring accurate processing, effective policy implementation, and resolution of escalated issues. Leads system enhancements and maintains strong customer service standards.
  • Evaluates the adequacy of financial reporting policies by collaborating across departments to ensure that operational activities are accurately reflected in the financial statements.
  • Develops and communicates financial analytics that support strategic, tactical, and financial objectives. Translates complex data into actionable insights for diverse audiences, identifying opportunities to enhance business performance.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains new staff. Provides constructive and timely performance reviews. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.


Skills and Qualifications
  • Works at an advanced level to review and evaluate recommendations and requirements and to develop appropriate plans or deliver actions required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • CPA credential is preferred.
  • Public accounting audit experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of practical business experience in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and accounting policy implementation is preferred.
