Full Job Description
We are looking for a Director, Field Sales, to help us develop and implement the regional and national strategic sales plan for the West Region. As a Trex Director, Field Sales, you will be looked to as an innovator and expected to manage sales programs, including budgets and volume objectives, to strategically coordinate the sales function efforts. This role is a key member of our Sales team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and executes comprehensive sales plans and programs, both short and long range, to support sales and revenue objectives of the organization.
  • Lead headquarters efforts and develop/manage relationships with decision-makers at key retail dealer accounts
  • Design and implement effective annual marketing/merchandising plans to drive sales
  • Oversees and analyzes sales program results to determine cost effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Direct the activities of sales personnel to support sales goals and growth initiatives
  • Conduct personnel activities such as hiring, training, work/staff scheduling, resource allocation, compensation planning, career development, etc., while directing/training Managers to do the same.
  • Lead the direct sales organization in strategically mapping out the sales growth of the business
  • Manage and review budget and financial information to meet commitments.
  • Serve as primary contact with established call frequency against key distributor locations that reside within respective regional responsibility. (Distributor call elements are expected to be covered in each call.)
  • Develop and leverage strong business relationships with Key Distributors
  • Coach, train, and mentor the sales organization to improve organizational capability.
  • Establish an employee developmental plan at the beginning of the year in collaboration with each direct report.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and training of new members of the Regional Sales team.
  • Develop and execute an annual business plan for the regional area of responsibility, including objectives for each individual on the sales team. The plan is designed to focus activity and achieve the region's sales target.
  • Drive organizational focus against pull-through activity.
  • Establish and achieve T & E budgets for region
  • Effectively manage Business Development Funds (BDF) to support strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with Marketing to help drive strategic goals in relation to new product development.
  • Interact with all Company departments on policy matters that promote sales and customer satisfaction.

DIRECT REPORTS

Manage and provide ongoing performance, coaching, and professional development opportunities for a team of 3 Regional Sales Managers.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires 60% - 75% overnight travel within the territory, and for customer meetings, trainings, and conferences. A valid driver's license is required.

EXPERIENCE

We are looking for leaders with a bachelor's degree plus 10 years of sales experience. 3 years of key account responsibility and 3 years of successful people management experience are also required. Candidates without a degree will be required to have 12 years of sales experience, plus 3 years of key account responsibility and 3 years of successful people management experience.

SALARY

Base Salary Range: $170,000 - $210,000 annually

The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual/sales bonus, in addition to the base salary.
