Primary Responsibilities:- Serve as lead writer for Optum's senior corporate leaders, including the CEO, creating clear, compelling communications that advance strategic priorities and strengthen Optum's reputation
- Develop speeches, presentations, executive remarks, articles, thought leadership, social media content, employee communications, video scripts, correspondence, and other high-visibility content for internal and external audiences
- Partner with executive communications strategy leaders and subject matter experts to translate business priorities, enterprise narratives, industry trends, and complex health care topics into simple, engaging, and memorable stories
- Ensure content reflects a consistent leadership voice, meets editorial standards, and strengthens Optum's reputation and thought leadership across live, written, digital, and social channels
- Lead and develop two communications professionals who support enterprise and corporate content development
- Manage multiple editorial priorities and deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality and using AI responsibly to streamline routine work and create more time for creativity, storytelling, and editorial judgment
- Advance storytelling practices, executive voice development, editorial standards, and content excellence across the Storytelling & Writing team

Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in humanities, communications, journalism, or a related field
- 8+ years of executive, corporate, or agency writing experience, including 3+ years writing for senior business leaders
- Knowledge of the U.S. health care industry and the roles of UnitedHealth Group and Optum, including the importance of technology and innovation in improving health care
- Proven exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to capture executive voice and create compelling content that engages audiences, influences perception, and advances business priorities
- Demonstrated experience developing executive content across speeches, presentations, articles, employee communications, social media, and thought leadership while maintaining a consistent voice and narrative across channels
- Proven intellectual curiosity about health care, policy, business, innovation, and industry trends
- Proven ability to travel occasionally

- Proven creative, collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships across diverse groups

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $134,600 - $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
