Full Job Description
Position Overview:

The role of the Estimating Team is crucial in securing work and building our business. Their understanding of rapidly changing conditions and relationships with area subcontractors ensures delivery of clear, concise bids tailored to the project and needs of our client. They set the operations team up for success and play a continuing role through construction.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and drive the culture of the Estimating Team
  • Support the Preconstruction Manager with the management of the Estimating Department that includes management of individuals workloads, timing and quality of deliverables to clients and staff training
  • Review and update as necessary estimating practices to maintain a best-in-class process that increases accuracy and quality of work products
  • Manage historical data of past estimates such that it can be used as a tool for cost comparisons
  • Review incoming pursuits and assign appropriate staff to estimate the project
  • Review all bids with Lead Estimators for completeness and accuracy prior to submission to clients
  • Upon project award, facilitate the project handoff meetings between estimating and operations teams
  • Collaborate with operations teams during pursuits to assure schedules, project logistics, staffing, and general requirement resources are accounted for
  • Ability to lead constructability reviews
  • Build & maintain effective relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal meetings and facilitate site visits for subcontractors and vendors
  • Lead value engineering exercise
  • Assist in preparation of RFPs

Qualifications:
  • Team driven and willing to do what it takes to guarantee client deliverables
  • Highly accountable and ability to manage multiple project at the same time
  • Conceptual estimating, hard bid estimating, and design build experiences required
  • Strong civil/sitework experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail; everything from the estimates, unit costs, bid scope sheets and proposal must be accurate
  • Outstanding communications and collaboration skills
  • 10+ years related experience and/or training with a General Contractor in an estimating role (Cost Estimator, Estimator and/or Lead Estimator) preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience with (or ability to learn) Planswift Take-off software, and Building Connected.
  • In-depth relationships with subcontractor community.

Compensation:
