Job Description:Note: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.The RoleThe Director leads the administration and oversight of estate gifts and serves as subject matter expert on estate gift compliance for Fidelity Charitable. The position partners closely with a cross-functional team to support gift and asset acceptance, due diligence and administration for estate gifts. The Director will engage with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, financial advisors, to ensure gifts are structured, documented, and managed effectively.
The
Expertise We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related or technical discipline, Juris Doctor preferred
- 8 plus years of trust administration, planned giving or gift administration experience
- A strong understanding of the nonprofit sector and donor-advised funds
- Ability to interface and build working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including trusts and estates attorneys and financial advisors as needed.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead meetings and influence outcomes without formal authority
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Exceptional organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Strong written and oral communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain and address complex issues and present effective solutions to diverse stakeholders.
The
Purpose of Your Role and the
Value You Deliver. The Director partners with business teams to develop a robust estate gift due diligence and administrative program. The Director will also provide guidance on complex charitable giving, leading and supporting initiative to create or enhance processes, strengthen controls and mitigate risk, while ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable policies and regulations. You will also help promote best practices aligned with the operation of a public charity and donor-advised fund program.
How Your Work
Impacts the Organization
Provide administrative oversight for all estate administration activities including trust and estate files, probate and legal actions. Interfaces with attorneys, executors and personal representatives to effectively administer estate gifts in a timely manner.
- Partners with business teams to advise on planned gifts, including wills, trusts, retirements accounts and split interest gifts.
- Identify and implement process improvements-particularly related to estate gift intake, diligence, administration, and oversight-through scalable, risk-informed solutions
- Translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance for business partners
Fidelity's Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
