Nemours is seeking a Director, Enterprise Internal Communication.

The Director, Internal Communications, serves as a trusted strategic advisor to executive and senior
leadership across the organization. This role owns all internal communications across Nemours
Children's Health, ensuring they advance strategic priorities, strengthen culture, and drive enterprise
alignment.

This director drives the translation of Nemours Children's brand narrative, mission, and overarching
strategic priorities into a single, coherent organizational voice. This includes leading integrated
campaigns that communicate enterprise priorities across internal and external audiences in close
partnership with other communications teams through core messaging, leadership communications,
internal communications platforms, and coordinated, multi-channel storytelling.

Working in close partnership with Brand, External Communications, Social Media, and other Marketing
and Communications functions, this leader ensures that internal communications are aligned with and
reinforce the broader enterprise narrative while contributing to enterprise-wide communications plans.

This director collaborates across the enterprise to build the systems, frameworks, and business
partnerships that elevate internal communications from a service provider to a strategic, integrated
capability that advances organizational outcomes.

Essential Functions

These responsibilities are of utmost importance and the department cannot function without them.
  1. Enterprise Internal Communications Strategy: Develop, own, and continuously evolve
Nemours Children's enterprise internal communications strategy. Lead integrated
communications planning aligned to institutional direction, ensuring alignment across internal
and external channels. Proactively identify communications opportunities and risks tied to
enterprise strategy and serve as a senior strategic internal communications advisor to executive
    leaders and enterprise business functions.
  2. Brand Narrative Communications: Partner with Marketing and Communications leadership to
translate the enterprise messaging architecture, brand strategy, and organizational values into
clear, consistent communications for associates that reinforce who Nemours is, what it stands
for, and where it is going. Partner closely with Brand Strategy, External Communications, and
Social Media, to ensure that the internal expressions of the Nemours brand are coherent,
complementary, and mutually reinforcing across channels. Serve as the guardian of the internal
narrative, ensuring consistency across audiences, channels and leadership communications.
  3. Internal Channels & Content Strategy: Oversee the strategy, governance, and performance of
all associate-facing communications channels and platforms across the enterprise. Ensure
content is strategic, audience-centered, and aligned to enterprise priorities. Lead audience
segmentation and channel optimization strategies that deliver the right messages to the right
people with clarity and impact. Maintain editorial oversight of the intranet, all-staff
communications, leader messaging programs, digital platforms, and emerging channels.
Establish communications rhythms and channel strategies that strengthen culture, reinforce
    priorities, and enable organizational alignment.
  4. Executive Communications: Serve as a communications partner to executive leaders for
internal and enterprise-facing communications. Bring strong writing and editing skills to the table
to deliver high-impact content and ensure executive voice is consistent, authentic, missionaligned, and resonant with diverse associate audiences across the enterprise. Partner with the
communications leadership to ensure a coherent and intentional executive narrative across all
    platforms.
  5. Strategic Communications Counsel: Provide senior-level strategic communications counsel
and planning in partnership with business leaders and other senior stakeholders to support
enterprise priorities from early planning through execution. Serve as a trusted advisor who brings
both deep communications expertise and strong business acumen to help leaders clarify
objectives, anticipate risks, align messaging with organizational priorities, and strengthen
decision-making. Evolve the operating model, norms, and accountabilities for the business
partner function so internal communications operates as a proactive strategic asset across the
    enterprise.
  6. Communications Systems and Infrastructure: Establish and maintain the operational
foundation of internal communications through repeatable processes, integrated planning
frameworks, and technology platforms that increase efficiency, coordination, and measurable
impact. Partner across Marketing and Communications to develop shared planning tools,
editorial calendars, and documented workflows that enable integrated communications across
channels and teams. Build frameworks that help leaders at every level communicate strategy,
    change, and culture more effectively.
  7. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, develop, motivate, and manage a high-performing
communications team. Teach, coach, and mentor direct reports and foster a culture of strategic
thinking, operational discipline, and continuous improvement. Support recruitment, onboarding,
performance development, and succession planning for the team with intention and consistency.
  8. Budget and Resource Management: Coordinate and manage the internal communications.
budget, including annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and agency and vendor resource
management. Ensure investment decisions are grounded in strategic priorities and that the team
consistently delivers measurable value against institutional communications goals.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field required. Master's degree in Strategic Communications, Business, or related discipline preferred.
  • 12 to 15 years of progressive communications experience, with a significant portion in enterprise, corporate, executive, business, or internal communications in a complex organization.
