RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Provides enterprise leadership for insights and analytics, translating data into actionable intelligence that informs executive decision-making and enterprise strategy. Defines and advances an integrated analytics vision aligned with business priorities, partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, IT, HR, Marketing, and Mission leadership to identify opportunities, evaluate performance, and guide long-term planning. Establishes enterprise performance measurement frameworks, including KPIs tied to strategic objectives, and prioritizes high-impact initiatives that drive growth, efficiency, and mission impact. Serves as a strategic advisor to senior leadership by synthesizing customer, store, market, and community insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
Leads the development and execution of short- and long-term (3 5 year) analytics strategies, ensuring scalability, governance, and alignment with evolving business needs. Establishes and standardizes operating procedures to enable consistent and efficient delivery of insights. Oversees operating budget planning and management, driving cost optimization while maintaining financial discipline. Leads complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple years, including development of enterprise-wide metrics and analytical capabilities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Lead the development and execution of the enterprise analytics strategy and multi-year roadmap to support retail growth, mission impact, and overall organizational performance.
2. Direct enterprise reporting, forecasting, and performance measurement capabilities to deliver timely, scalable, and decision-ready insights for senior leadership.
3. Partner with Finance, Operations, IT, HR, Marketing, Mission Services, and other leaders to prioritize analytics initiatives and translate business needs into actionable solutions.
4. Oversee customer, shopper, store, market, and trade-area analytics to identify growth opportunities, improve performance, and inform strategic investments.
5. Guide competitive, market, and macroeconomic analysis to strengthen forecasting, long-range planning, and executive decision-making.
6. Establish and promote enterprise analytics best practices that improve data trust, consistency, and adoption across the organization.
7. Strong technical proficiency in analytics and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, and Snowflake.
8. Lead, coach, and develop analytics talent and external partners to build organizational capability and a high-performing, service-oriented analytics function.
9. Present insights, recommendations, and business implications to executive leadership and key stakeholders to influence priorities, resource allocation, and strategic action.
10. Leading and Developing Talent: Manages organizational design for area of responsibility and directs talent planning, hiring, development and training of staff. May participate in succession planning discussions. Networks and sources for positions throughout the organization.
11. Project and Change Management: Serves as project owner for high complexity department, cross-functional or multi-location projects and improvement initiatives. Set project direction including project scope, timeline and resources. Accountable for making decisions and project success. Manages change through effective planning, communication and coaching. Builds and participates in leadership coalition supporting and implementing organizational change.
12. Community Engagement: Actively engages with community partners and links activities to business performance.
13. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor s Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 8 years experience.
2. Bachelor s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business, or a related quantitative discipline; Master s degree preferred.
3. 8 years of progressive experience in analytics, business intelligence, strategy, or related disciplines, preferably within retail, consumer, or multi-unit environments.
4. Proven success building, leading, and scaling analytics capabilities, including team development, process improvement, and technology enablement.
5. Strong technical proficiency in analytics and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, and Snowflake, with demonstrated experience working with large datasets.
6. Demonstrated ability to translate complex data and insights into business decisions, strategic actions, and measurable outcomes.
7. Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and connect analytical insights to business priorities.
